I've just seen a bizarre statement from the very first page of the BNP manifesto. "The hijab and burqa are threatening and offensive. Thay have no place in our free British society." Now, I'm not one to sympathise with any religion but that statement is fundamentally flawed. Surely in our 'free British society' people are 'free' to wear whatever clothes they choose. Surely it would be infringing upon their religious 'freedom' to ban clothes that are a symbol of their religion. I'm going to see if I can find any more paradoxes. EDIT: I've just realised they misspelled 'they' as well. If they can't get that right then how the hell can they be expected to govern a country? It would probably be easier to tell us which policies aren't ludicrous.

They've still managed to stuff it full of extreme right wing rhetoric. It's got plenty of pretty pictures as well for all their voters who can't read.

The labour manifesto in the 1940's that brought in the welfare state was about the same size. Modern manifestos are full of padding and bland statements.

Seriously though, Labour's manifesto is 85 pages long. UKIP's is 76. Realistically, who's going to sit and read through all of that? Even party members have been caught out having not read it. I haven't seen the Conservative one but I imagine it will be similar. Being only 16 pages, I take it you've read the Green manifesto in detail?

I dont take into account this food bank bullshit, like some people have said, you offer something out for free then theres going to be some people that will use it just because it is free, fair enough theres people out there that genuinely need it but theres likely people out there that also too lazy to work and therefore use it as a way of saving money so they dont have to work so hard. you have to vouchers from the job centre and apparently its limited to 3 boxes or something but this isnt enforced, people can basically take take take what Im saying is its hard to correlate that to the state of employment or whatever, its like saying X amount more are claiming benefits, chances are theres a group of people in there that are conning the system. just because its a higher amount doesnt necessarily mean its what it appears, its about making sure the right people get what they need and not allowing lazy grabbing people to live life as easy as they like. Hiya Nigel, hiya pal.

I think we'll see voting reform within the next parliamentary term.

This post reminds me of that deplorable cretin, Katie Hopkins... That is a comparison you do not want... I'd suggest you do a little extra reading

Why are you not more angered by the corporations that steal millions of pounds? The Tories support these people.

Just slap on a Nigel Farage mask and you're home and dry.

As a quasi-American, I actually find this British General Election farcical.

Also is UKIP akin to the Tea Party in the U.S.? Is that a fair comparison?

Lol Actually, I really don't think the Tea Party is as bad as the left wing media tries to portray. in actuality, it highlights democracy in action. But yes, as a splinter and more extreme group from the Republican Party, it's seems like UKIP is a perfect analogy. That being said, let's not ignore that the Democratic. Party is made up of its own factions, too.

How different are Labour and the Lib Dems? Are there many major differences, and what are they?

How different are Labour and the Lib Dems? Are there many major differences, and what are they? Very centrist - mainly centre left, but not as left wing as Labour. Lib Dems are more reformists in social matters, while wanting federalism introduced and First Past The Post scrapped. More pro business creation and pro EU too.

After canvasing and leafleting in Kirkcaldy all day, here are my final predictions for tomorrow:
UKIP - 3 seats with Farage not winning his. Lib Dems - 31 seats Green - They'll retain their seat in Brighton SNP - 50 seats
Labour will only get six seats in Scotland but will be marginally larger than the Conservatives overall.
Whatever happens, no party will command a majority. I'm predicting a minority Labour government although I may change my mind after seeing the real result tomorrow.
