If Douglas Alexander loses his seat by that number then that would suggest a complete wipeout in Scotland.

"On news of the exit poll, Sterling rose about 2p against the dollar, a sign of the international market's confidence in a Conservative-led government"

Lib Dems - like Labour - are fucked. But 316 Cons + 10 Libs = 326. Why wouldn't that coalition hold (if those numbers end up 100% accurate)? It's not a majority though..... But the way things are going, Conservatives may be getting a majority. It's a real possibility now - and we all said majoritarian governments were finished after 2010.

How wouldn't 326 be a majority coalition? [Also, why do some sites mention 323 being the magic number?]

The SNP are still saying they want to work with Labour. Sturgeon Said
"I think the results we may be about to see unfold in Scotland tonight show that the anti-austerity message that the SNP put at the heart of this campaign has resonated across Scotland.”
We’ll wait and see the extent of the SNP victories tonight. Regardless of the results tonight I’m immensely proud of our candidates and campaign team.
Obviously it’s at a very early stage of the night in terms of results across the UK, as indeed it is in Scotland. But if the parliamentary arithmetic allows us to lock out the Tories then as I have said throughout this campaign that’s what we should do and my message to Ed Miliband is that we should work together to do exactly that."

Sky News is saying that the exit polls are bang on form (or very close to it).

Well THIS is fucking depressing. Goodbye NHS. Hello more food banks. Good luck to the poor and disabled. And good luck to any young people like myself of ever getting onto the property market. could not be more depressed about the what's to come for this country in the next five years.

I'll tell you this for free: SNP is performing (read: dominating) just as the exit poll suggested.

UKIP are on the board. Are they? I'm not getting that news. Which seat did they get? EDIT: Never mind. Carswell in Clacton held his seat, which was to be expected.

The Lib Dems have won in matt's seat. Not a clean sweep for the SNP. It was very tight, and I was resigned to losing Carmichael, but very thankful he's held on. Contrary to national opinion, the Lib Dems have done us a lot of good for us up in Orkney.

Disappointed at Labours collapse, despite never voting for them - for the sake of stability considering the polls tonight, there need to be other centrist alternatives in parliament.
