Chasing yesterday for me. There are some Songs on it, that I don't need to listen to. But overall pretty cool stuff, compared to The safe and IMO boring debut.

Hands down Chasing Yesterday. The first album lost it's appeal pretty soon and his over-reliance on finishing those songs with the same line they start with really winds me up. I can honestly see myself listening to this one for many years though. Definitely his actual best since Morning Glory for me and proof that he needs to write all the songs if Oasis ever reform.

CY for me. Noel's first album was just a bit to generic for my taste. Where as I already love some of these new songs. The Right Stuff is class.

HFB was pretty solid but safe. However, after 4 years, I still listen to this one (okay, 3, only got into Oasis a bit later ) but Chasing Yesterday is awesome too. I can't tell if I'll still feel the same about it in 3 years though, but at the moment I think it's absolutely fantastic.

Wow Im surprised by all the CY. For me NGHFB is the better of the two, hands down.
CY is a consistently great album, but for me NHGFB has a couple of songs that rank among Noel's best.

It's still very early but I really love Chasing Yesterday. Sonically it is more interesting, the songs have more pep to their step and the guitar solos are back baby!!!!! I don't skip any tracks and it features some of the best Noel songs in years. It's great that he produced it and it sounds so fresh and modern. Something I've wanted for Noel.

Haven't listened to Chasing Yesterday yet, but it's better. I became sure of that when I first heard Ballad of the Mighty I.

Very early for this, everyone's still over excited for CY, even if its better, its too soon to judge

The debut left me so underwhelmed, the old songs sounded worse than the demos we'd heard from Oasis, and a lot of the unheard songs were so safe it hurt. I still prefer Different Gear to his debut. Chasing Yesterday is just so much better and fresher sounding, it seems far less Noel-by-numbers.

CY. I love the first album, but this is a lot more diverse and interesting. For me there isn't any skippers- I like ITHOTM, but I think it's the weakest track. I feel there is 5 10/10 songs on here as well. Riverman, TDOTL, Right Stuff, WTSRTS (I've missed that explosion at 3 mins 10) and the BOTMI, kinda wished I hadn't listened to BOTMI before hand now. I love EOTR in particular on the first album- AND IIHAG, but I'm starting to agree with people saying about production matters, I've always thought if it's a good song it's a good song but it does matter. Thank God Sardy said no. Worrying this is he was Noel's first choice ?.. He ruined Record Machine - when I compare that to the demo where I literally cried when I heard the solo was so underwhelming on NGHFB. Having said that I loved the 1st album, but I know, even a few years down the line, I'll prefer this one.. I've been waiting for proper guitar solos that have gone longer than 4 bars since BHN, and at last he's done them.. Delighted with the record. ❤️

Yeh I suppose I'm understating it, as I forgot about WAL. Whoops. I love both records.

Chasing Yesterday by miles.
NGHFB was 2 great songs, a couple good and the rest total filler.

I'm not sure about better, but I already prefer CY because NGHFB unfortunately still bores me, whenever I listen to the whole thing, which I do try from time to time. Also, I dislike the choir, especially the death sighs in "Record Machine". Ruins an otherwise good song for me. CY for me is much more enjoyable than NGHFB.

Chasing Yesterday.
Never have liked HFB, and I'm pretty sure I never will. As G&T said, to me that album was 2 great tunes, a couple of good ones and the rest was just filler imo. Not to mention the lack of guitars, terrible drumming and bland production...

It always makes me very sleepy. It just sounds soooo cheesy and boring.

I love them both, I think the song quality is about the same but CY has way better production and arrangements.

I voted the first one because, as a whole, I think it's better. But CY has some of his best songs ever though.

We're all excited because Chasing Yesterday has just come out. And so we should be. But give it a little time to settle and I'm sure this poll won't be so one sided. I think NGHFB is an absolutely class record

A real tough one. NGHFB sounds quite ploddy and stuffy at times despite containing some really great songs. CY sounds fresh, whizzes past and sonically pisses all over NGHFB. I'd say CY by a whisker however it maybe lacks a real chart hit to get non beliebers interested like WAL.

Honestly, now that I have the album on my iTunes I created a playlist of a mixture of both albums and I press shuffle and Noel is a fucking genius to music!! hahahaha not to be a kiss ass - but both of these records are incredible.
I am edging towards Chasing Yesterday as I left off some tracks from NGHFB in the playlist and none from CY.

It's too soon for me to vote. I just got CY so I need to give it several more listens before deciding.
I genuinely like HFB, even though I do think CY is better produced overall. The sound of CY sounds more direct and layered (if that makes any sense) and HFB can sound a bit samey in some parts. But HFB has really epic songs like EOTR and IIHAG that rank right up there with the best Oasis songs, for me. I'm also including all the b-sides and bonus tracks in my evaluation, so songs like A Simple Game of Genius elevate HFB too.
In CY, I really like In the Heat of the Moment, Ballad of the Mighty I, Riverman, and Girl with the X-Ray Eyes at the moment. I like how Noel did some different musical sounds in this album.
For creativity, overall sound and album as a whole, CY might win, but like I said, HFB is also a very solid album and doesn't get enough credit in my opinion. And I might feel more emotionally attached to the HFB songs even if they're not the "best" (just because of my own personal circumstances).
Perhaps HFB gets a vote from my heart, CY from my brain.

CY.
I've spent four years trying to make myself love HFB1, worrying why I didn't love it.
Then I heard CY and remembered why I love Noel's music! Combination of devastating melody with an interesting SOUND!
The Right Stuff is just... perfect.

Love both (suppose I wouldn't be on here if I didn't) but its gotta be CY. As an album it flows a lot better and as everybody as already said the production is just better. As an american I hate to say this but its true, his first album sounds too polished therefore more american where as CY sounds more British meaning less polished and less messing around with the mixes. So there's that and I just flat out think the songs are better.
Bottom line: CY has 5 masterpiece songs in my eyes (or ears), Riverman, The Dying of the Light, While the Song Remains the Same, You know We Can't Go Back & Ballad of the Mighty I. Where as NGHFB only has 2 masterpiece songs in my book, Everybodys on the Run and What a Life, and maybe Broken Arrow if you take the acoustic version, likewise if you take Stop the Clocks and put the acoustic on the album but thats to many "What ifs"
Chasing Yesterday: 5 Stars out of 5 NGHFB: 3.5 Stars
