I was literally told on a Liam thread repeatedly that I couldn't say I wasn't interested in hearing his record if I hadn't heard it yet. You were called out for repeatedly posting your "disinterest" multiple times. Except that I didn't. People asked me questions and I responded to them. When a moderator made it clear to me that what they wanted out of a thread was for people to continue to take shots at me and me not to respond to them, I didn't write another word. There are people who continually post in say the Holy Mountain thread saying for the fifth day in a row that the song is great or the song is bad. I didn't do anything like that. I made a remark about the album, people responded to it, and I responded to their response. This is how proper conversation actually works and I never departed from that model. Again, what was wanted was not a conversation and when I realized that I abided by the rules.

This is what is so frustrating on here... Just because a fan doesn't like a NG or LG song or album..doesnt automatically mean that their not fans. And just because someone is pissed about a comment.. doesn't mean that there allowing the comment to affect their daily life... It's perfectly acceptable to have an opinion and to express it.. you don't have to agree or disagree. I'm pissed at NG comments because I'm a fan of his... It's idiotic for him or anyone on his team to make such a comment. Now had he written.. "the parka monkey..no s then I'd assumed he was talking about liam..just like the pigeon and eagle comment..and I could careless about what he says about his brothers and same for liam. you don't insult your fanbase. There is no way around it.. It's the golden rule in regards to singers, bands, celebrities, sports people. Btw, even though I'm fairly new to the forum.. there is a completely different vibe on Noel's thread than Liam's. I've become very hesitant to be post anything even interviews bc ive received bullshit responses. Anyway, as Matt (supersonic doc guy) said about ng and LG.. "they're both wrong and both right" I agree, apart from it's "couldn't care less".

The questions you were asked where of the "u wot m8?" kind. And yes, on the HM thread? I fully expect people to keep discussing their listening experience. What I don't expect is a random bystander repeatedly getting into fights over how he doesn't want to listen to the tune.

I have to disagree with you. Based on my own experience. It's different. I've shared negative opinions on both threads regarding songs, and gotten very different responses. Maybe, it is just Me? I noticed this today too on this thread. And I didn't even say anything negative, only mentioned a funny (or I thought so) comment Noel once made.

Both boards have big push backs.
Right now it's sunshine and lollipops at the Liam thread, which is great, but up until a year ago you couldn't feign share a negative opinion.

wow the "parka monkeys" comment couldn't have come at a better moment for Liam, just before a massive gig announcement. Poor timing Noel, really poor timing.. "Monkeys, eagles and pigeons welcome" That was such a huge fortuitous match ball for Liam ahaha

I didn't go to a general thread about the album and post every day about how I didn't want to listen to it. And, no, those were not the kinds of questions I got. Here's an example: I gave my reasons, someone said they were unconvinced, I responded by saying that's okay I wasn't really trying to convince anyone just giving my reasons. Then the response I got to that was, "Do you have any convincing reasons instead?" So when I give more reasons because I was asked to do so, I get, "whoa, whoa, enough already." I mean, seriously, how is that anything other than completely unfair. I'm still amused how people were so offended by my point about not having time. I'd be curious how many people on the forum have the time to listen to every piece of music that is released vs. picking and choosing what they will listen to.

I do not, first because i'm not interested in what gets released these days and i am discovering old classics, and second because even if i wanted to, i would have no time, but guess what, if i have no time to listen to new rihanna album i don't go on rihann4eva. com to say that i don't have time for her album. At least that is how it felt for most the people on the thread i guess.

I'd be curious how many people on the forum have the time to listen to every piece of music that is released vs. picking and choosing what they will listen to. Actually, I went back and looked for the thread. Here's your opening post: The topic was "everything wrong with the album". You hadn't even listened to it because you objected to it being co-written. Right off the bat, you were hijacking a discussion about music. Again, you weren't discussing what was wrong with the album, you were just complaining about Liam And the one that I think turned the crowd against you: By that time, you'd posted five times in an hour. But the real kicker is that you kept arguing about increasingly unrelated things for the next two pages, while simultaneously claiming not to have any time to check the album out and at least form an educated opinion. That's why people lost their patience with you, because you were trolling a thread specifically about an album you refused to listen to. But hey, you can go edit those posts and rewrite your own history if you like

At least that is how it felt for most the people on the thread i guess. Ah, see. I would have liked to have had this discussion in that thread because I do think we have a lot in common in this regard. The points that you gave are exactly the same points that I have - I'm not interested and I don't have time. And I see your point about going to rihann4eva (is that...a real site?) but I suppose here's my response to that. I am already here because I am a fan of Oasis. And I joined because I am excited about Noel's new album. I didn't go out of my way to create a thread about what's wrong with Liam's album. There was already one there so I thought it was an okay space to share my views. I honestly would have NEVER created a thread on the subject myself and I truly thought I was just engaged in a conversation with people who were asking me questions and I was giving my answers to those questions. Once it became clear that people were frustrated with my responses, I stopped entirely.

Thing is, even if the Parka Monkeys don't like the single, they're likely to buy the album anyway, and probably already bought most of Noel's gig tickets. I don't know what he gains by having a go at the more fanboy element of his followers, it's not as if Holy Mountain has caught a new audience. By all means have a go at Liam, for me it's all part of the charm, when it's funny at least, but I just don't understand his logic so far (and not just this, but the whole strategy). Hopefully we get a good record at the end of it, which is what will get remembered.

Well whoever said that is a fucking idiot It was probably more than five people who said something along those lines. I don't think I have ever been involved in a more ridiculous conversation. Hmmm except maybe the one you got involved in earlier when pushing your drug 'theory'.

Just reading through this thread now and laughing at how seriously people are trying to take the Gallaghers.
Nobody here is really offended by the term "parka monkey".

I'm offended by the insinuation that if you don't like the (terrible) single it's because you love Liam and are stupid.
Noel believes he deserves a better class of fan, as he essentially admitted when he made his first solo tour all seated. He used to say these things with a heavy dose of irony, but that's gone now.
