I love that Noel’s parka monkey comment hit a nerve with some people on here. When you become too much of a fanboy and start to invest too much of your life into the Gallaghers, those comments are bound to offend you Personally, the thing that annoys me with this comment is not the parka monkey thing, but that he seems to say that those who don't like Holy Mountain are Liam fanboys. It's a bit like people saying "oh you don't like it because it's a new direction, completely different from Oasis bla bla bla". I don't mind the new direction (the trailer got me quite excited for the album in fact), I just don't like this song because ... I just don't think it is very good and I expect a lot from a songwriter like Noel (I don't hate the song, mind you, I'm just not impressed a kinda forgot about it already). It's satire. Why is this going over your head? Why is this going over the heads of so many? It's tongue and cheek. It's a fookin joke, man. You're reading into things that have no substance beyond comedy. |

I'll never understand how people, especially grown ones in their 30s and middle aged, care so much about what millionaire ego-trippers have to say, let alone their own spoiled children. Noel's an ass and so is Liam - this isn't new.  |

Speaking as merely one fan, I think Noel has been the better man for several years and I'm not crazy about Liam, but for Noel to blame the hate for Holy Mountain on fanboys is incorrect. I have wanted a new direction from him for years, I wanted the AA thing to get released and I love his Chemical Brothers stuff. Be Here Now should have been mixed by them. So I want the new stuff and loved the teaser, but Holy Mountain just sucks IMO. Hopefully it is the worst track on the record, because it's awful. I would hate for his finally going in a new direction to result in this. I still have faith that the other tracks are better, but the man has atrocious taste in singles, and does things like sticking Masterplan on a B-side while putting Roll With It out as the first single.

This is what is so frustrating on here...
Just because a fan doesn't like a NG or LG song or album..doesnt automatically mean that their not fans. And just because someone is pissed about a comment.. doesn't mean that there allowing the comment to affect their daily life... It's perfectly acceptable to have an opinion and to express it.. you don't have to agree or disagree.
I'm pissed at NG comments because I'm a fan of his... It's idiotic for him or anyone on his team to make such a comment. Now had he written.. "the parka monkey..no s then I'd assumed he was talking about liam..just like the pigeon and eagle comment..and I could careless about what he says about his brothers and same for liam.
you don't insult your fanbase. There is no way around it.. It's the golden rule in regards to singers,bands,celebrities,sports people.
Btw, even though I'm fairly new to the forum.. there is a completely different vibe on Noel's thread than Liam's. I've become very hesitant to be post anything even interviews bc ive received bullshit responses.
Anyway, as Matt (supersonic doc guy) said about ng and LG.. "they're both wrong and both right"
