While he is great songwriter, does anyone here feel like they ''look past'' his voice when listening to his tracks (because they know they're getting a great song)?
If you just take Noel's singing voice by itself... yes it's technically very good... but do you actually like it?
For me, it has become too polished in recent years... losing that Mancunian flavour and becoming, dare I say it, almost American.
Or do you like it... but prefer it in small doses?
For me, his voice works best with either acoustic songs or the truly great sing-a-long types... anything else in between is just a no-no.

I don't like it.
I love it. He could sing the phonebook and I'd love it. Love his tone, love the way he puts emotion into the songs, and his voice is pretty powerful too.
Absolutely, no question about it. At least for the past 10 years he's consistently been a great singer, both in the studio and live. I've always found the tone of his voice very pleasant, even in the early days when he sometimes struggled to hit the correct notes.
If we are to compare the two singers, I think the best thing about Noel is he can be quite dynamic and subtle, unlike Liam who always sings as if his life depended on it. That benefitted all the great, rocking songs, but I think it didn't fit some of the ballads. As a matter of fact, there are a few classic tracks I wish Noel would have sung (Cast No Shadow and Rockin' Chair come to mind). And I realize this is not a popular opinion.

Noel deserves a lot of credit for improving as a singer over the last 15 years, its certainly come a long way. I didn't vote for either though, I by no means dislike Noel's voice but I also find little distinctive about it or engaging enough over a full album.
I'll always prefer the roughest sounding Liam to the most angelic sounding Noel, but of course other than that I like his voice. It usually does not do the same things that other singers' voices do to me, but he's got a nice singing voice.
I like it a lot more than I used to. His studio vocals have been on a constant upwards curve and I've grown to appreciate it more and more as the years have gone by. He's been good enough to be a lead vocalist since about 2002 imo.
Although he's admitted himself that he's not the greatest singer, I personally love his voice. Some of the TCT acoustic performances are some of his very best

I've never liked it. Had Liam not been in the band I don't think I would have ever become a fan of Oasis. I've always thought he sounds like an un-knotted balloon on high notes. Don't agree that he's improved either, his best vocal performances for me were Morning Glory at Earls Court in '95 and Morning Glory on MTV Unplugged.
Considering they had one of the best singers in the world in their locker, it's scandalous that Noel sang on any tracks between 1994 and 2002.

General question to the many haters in the forum: People who only moan and complain about Liam's voice, Beady Eye songs, Noel's voice, Noel's lack of frontmanship, or whatever, do you really have so little in your life that you spend it here trolling?
Go troll some Nicki Minaj forum or One Direction videos on youtube Fucking pain in the ass!

To be fair, this question is specifically about whether you like or dislike Noel's voice. It's not really trolling if you actually do dislike his voice.

Where did I criticise Liam's voice in this thread? I merely stated that Noel's voice has improved whilst Liam's has deteriorated over the same period.
The fact that Liam's voice has got worse isn't a criticism. More a statement of fact that he himself wouldn't argue against.

I've always been more of a Noel fan and as such I've always loved his singing. I wonder if him getting his teeth fixed has anything to do with his voice?
themasterplanet: A Northern Soul by The Verve! My second favourite album by them. I love the atmosphere of it, it’s very dreamy and melancholic and dark. It holds many memories for me and I think that’s partly responsible for why I love it so much.

Bring It On Dan: I have so much shit on an old hard drive somewhere but I just cannot find it. Nothing 'out there' but probably 200 gigs or so. I can't remember the name of the site that had all the gigs listed and sources for loads of gigs next to it? I remember RKID 003.
