I've not even heard it (I'm one of the few not listening to the leak) but if it is Noel Gallagher's top 10 songs ever I'd be incredibly surprised. From what I've heard (mainly from people on here) it's sounds great and I'm very excited to hear it but similar the The Escapists response to be top 10 it'd need to be phenomenally good a top 10 for me would be something like; Live Forever Slide Away The Masterplan Champagne Supernova Gas Panic! Some Might Say Acquiesce Wonderwall Rock 'n' Roll Star Whatever If it is anywhere near that level, it'll be one of the best songs of the 21st Century by anyone! its not anywhere near the level of those songs

It's all sentiment vs excitement debate really. You can't rate song this way, they are all unique. Top 10 is too limited for Noel anyways, top 15 at least is where you can try to sum up all his bests honestly.

You can't rate song this way, they are all unique. Exactly so saying you could replace a xx song with riverman already proves your whatever point redundant except for you ... Tho i'm sure hearing the whole of the RAH carrying on singing Whatever for good 4-5 mins after Noel leaves the stage like at the first night of TCT '10? wont happen with Riverman.. Tho in 15 years time i might be wrong ..

Or Supersonic for that matter...
Picking Oasis' 10 best songs is hard enough - not a fair game for the HFB songs even though they are awesome.

It is extremely boring. The worst song on the album, IMHO.

It's great, though I don't think so. It'd be in the Top 40 Noel songs though.

No
I listened to Pinball by Brian P. Being inspired is one thing but ripping off a song from its roots a different thing all together.
Excellent song and very interesting to listen to.

No, but it has a lot of great qualities. To me, it's the second best song on the album, behind TDOTL. It's repetitiveness keeps it from achieving true greatness. It'll be great live for sure, just one to really cut loose and jam out to.

I'm not sure whether it's a top 10 song for Noel considering what might be on the top 10. Time will tell. However, I'd put it up there with Talk Tonight, which is saying a lot in my opinion.

Tbh, I expected it to sound more like Pinball than it does. It has the same style, but it doesn't really sound like it imo

Not even in the best 10 Noel solo songs. Would agree that the melody is pretty forgettable. Slightly different song arrangement and some of you guys are going nuts over it. Crazy.

For me it definitely is, it's got great melodies, a great chorus and bridge that are almost blended in together, the bass riff in the back is just epic, guitar solo is strong, saxophone coming in towards in the end is unique for Noel, and it feels like he's really trying hard to expand his style of music. It's just fantastic. Quite honestly after 3 days of listening its up with his finest work. Class A for sure and it sounds like a man with a masterplan(bad pun intended). 10/10. Can't wait to see this live in just over 2 weeks !!!!!!! I love it. The chorus is monstrously good. But after seeing some of the track listings posted in response to this question it almost seems it's a question that in hindsight is impossible to answer. Right here right now I would put RM in the top 3 songs I want to listen to... Above most of the classics in the lists posted. But what I listen to now and rate now can not be compared against each other. Context and the impact Socially need to be accounted for. RM is the nuts but it will not effect peoples lives like the landmark tracks did and nor should they. Noel is 47 and we as fans have lived alongside his music and in many cases the man has provided the soundtracks to our lives. Nothing he does from now on in no matter how good can not have the same impact by definition.

Far too much hype revolving around Riverman. It's really not THAT good in my opinion. Definitely not in top 5 on the new album for me nevermind top 10 of all time. Noel has 10+ Oasis b-sides miles better than Riverman before you even get started on album tracks.
