I often find myself enjoying certain moments of songs, even if I sometimes don't really love the song as a whole. I'd like to know which moments or little parts on Chasing Yesterday you love. Riverman: I love that the singing seems slightly too slow. Maybe that's just me or it's because I listened to the crappy recording and Noel played it a bit faster than on the record. I also love the moment when the solo kicks in. It somehow says to me "Welcome to this very special Noel Gallagher album. It will blow you away!". In The Heat Of The Moment: I love the opening line, but I especially enjoy how he sings "That loving man ain't no rolling stone" in the second verse. I love this bit even though it's probably the weakest for me personally (still good though, it has grown on me in the context of the album). The Girl With X-Ray Eyes: On this I love how Noel sings "she's gonna see through my disgui-ui-uise". Don't know why...it sounds smooth, I guess Lock All The Doors: I think the verses have a very special "flow". Sorry, I cannot describe it any better, but maybe you know what I mean. The Dying Of The Light: What kind of crazy sound is that at the beginning? Sounds like some monk from Age Of Empires II, haha. I love the keys on this track! Can't wait to hear that live. Another thing that always makes me smile is the guitar part after "the echoes that I could hear were all my own". Beautiful detail The Right Stuff: This whole song is actually a favourite moment of the album for me, but I especially love how well Noel's and the women's voices work together. Oh, and the bass-clarinette is a bliss! While The Song Remains The Same: The transition between this and The Right Stuff is truly beautiful. I love how the actual song does not start until ~0:40. The guitar solo is beautiful as well. You Know We Can't Go Back: While I haven't yet discovered any special moments on The Mexican, the verses of this are a great moment of the album for me. Beautiful little guitar solo again! Ballad Of The Mighty I: First, I think the transistion between You Know We Can't Go Back and this is perfect. I also love Johnny Marr's bits and Noel's echoed(doubled?) voice in the verses, beautiful!

TGWTXE: All about the 3rd and 4th lines of the chorus.

Seriously though, there are a few little bits that come to mind. The guitar in The Right Stuff that sounds like the guitar on Pink Floyd's Money. Also when the bass clarinet plays that C arpeggio at the start of the song.
Johnny Marr's guitar playing on Mighty I.
Lock All the Doors guitar solo.
The lead guitar at the end of the Dying of the Light.
The first time the chorus kicks in on You Know We Can't Go Back. Exhilarating.

The horns in The Mexican and The Right Stuff The transition between the last two songs. The bit in The Dying Of The Light near the end where he goes "And it makes me wanna cryyyyyyy hmmm hmmm, hmmm hmm" The chorus of Lock All The Doors and the little guitarthing that follows it.

There's a thing that happens in The Mexican -- I wish I had the technical jargon to explain it, but it makes me feel like all summer breaks and sunny weekends came together to lift me up. It happens in the second rendition of the chorus, when the percussion perks up a bit and there's a much heavier guitar than in the first instance of it. Feels like a classic Oasis chorus instrumental there. Soaring-y af. The more I hear the Mexican the more I appreciate it. Once I get past the Marmite similarities I actually think it's fun. I don't know what some people want from a man in the game for 20+ years? I am content, more than content, happy with CY. There are other artists to follow if Noel does not do it for them.

The Dying Of The Light: What kind of crazy sound is that at the beginning? Sounds like some monk from Age Of Empires II, haha. I was going to post it sounds a bit like music from Zelda, specially from Skyward Sword, hahahaha! And the end of The Right Stuff sound a little bit like the jazz songs in Simcity 3000.

Riverman: when the first chorus starts... ITHOTM: the bells, of course TGWXRE: the chorus, when he sings "she swallows space and time..." LATD: the very beginning of the song, that distorted riff...I am 17 again TDOTL: the middle eight which breaks into the guitar solo TRS: when he starts singing:"when your heart gets shattered..." WTSRTS: the intro and the opening line TM: sorry, not into it YKWCGB: the bridge BOTMI: the chorus, and the guitar part in the middle

Hands down, Johnny Marr's bits in BOTMI. That song is full of bright and beautiful moments, especially during the spaceous bits.
The rhythm section and the clarinet on The Right Stuff as well.
Also, the three-piece punch of The Dying Of The Light, The Right Stuff and the Enoesque intro of While The Song Remains The Same. The latter is like a cross between Part Of The Queue and Falling Down, which I like, but could be regarded as Noel-by-numbers as well.
Riverman kinda wears off pretty quick, as does Lock All The Doors. Good songs nevertheless, but not quite as convincing as I had expected.
I'm just waiting for the real deal to appear, I'm sure there's much more to discovered in the mix when we finally get to hear the album in the quality the public is supposed to hear it.

The oooooi's in The Dying of the Light after the second chorus. Reminds me of Slide Away. That gets me EVERY TIME....so Slide Awayesque and perfect. Those Oooooos give me chills. I'm happy to hear Noel hasn't done away with them in the final version!!! that was a major concern of mine.

The sax in Riverman, all smoky and red. When he sings, "That loving man ain't no ROLLin' stone" and the guitar lick comes in in perfect time with the beat. The crazy, circus solo on The Girl with the X-Ray Eyes. The first time the chorus breaks through on Lock all the Doors The guitar riffs on The Dying of the Light, especially the last one which has loads of effect bringing the gorgeous sound out. The Right Stuff. When in Marrs solo on BOTMI the bass lifts in the mix and it sounds great. The first riff in The Mexican. The Eno intro, well documented. Th strings at the end of BOTMI.

Riverman- the lead especially the walk down at the end of it
In the heat- I always enjoyed the "I talked to him on the telephone" line
X-Ray- intro reminds me of a masterplan/stairway to heaven type deal
Lock all the doors- start of 2nd chorus to the end of the song. Cruises, like in the turning from 2nd chorus on.
Dying of the light- piano parts really make this song for me
The right stuff- guitar fills during last chorus
Song remains same- love this tune, best part is coming out of the lead into the main riff of the song
The mexican- don't understand all the hate on this one. Chorus flows real nicely, especially the final chorus
Can't go back- love the ending lead. Great way to end the song. Should of ended the album with this song
Mighty I- guitar lick at the very end

The way he says you know we cant go baaaack! that last time
And the lift in his voice where he goes "take me to my lover's arms!"
Actually the whole of that song, it would be stupid to comment on every verse bridge and chorus and lyric but fuck yes this song is one of my favourite Oasis / Liam/ Noel related/ anybody ever related songs ever.

That ending guitar solo bit in WTSRTS before it starts fading out. It almost sounds like the "na na na na naa naaa's" from ITHOTM, but better, obviously.
