I've already preordered the vinyl. I'm sure a lot of other people on here will have also preordered in some form.
The hardcore fans are the ones who are most likely to be looking for the leak and also the most likely to buy the album. I predict most people will buy the record regardless of the leak.
Besides, the quality isn't the best. There are loud noises in between all the songs. People will want the real thing.

Albums have been leaking weeks in advance for 15 years now. Doesn't stop artists from going #1. It will however impact potential units sold but it's all relative since all artists deal with it. I have no idea how Taylor Swift sold 4 million copies of 1989 in under 4 months.

Not much, if any. It was always going to leak on the Japanese date which is less than 10 days away, and would possibly get an advance official stream a week in advance as NGHFB did. Most of the people who have downloaded it would have already pre-ordered or fully intended to buy it, myself included. The best thing the leak can bring is some good word of mouth reaction.

Leaks only prevent you from buying the album when you find out that the album is Bullshit. This is not the case.
I tell you more, some people can find the album so good above any expectation, that are now considering opening their wallets for getting the whole thing.

it won't have any effect on the sales at all. people that are after a free copy anyways would have just waited until the album has been made officially available. we all know that it only takes hours until an album is availble for free via the well known sources after the official release. now they get it a few days earlier.

The only people who won't buy the album because of the leak are the ones disappointed by the leaked material.
Most people will stream it, fans will buy it.

All the people who buys records these days are the hardcore fans, so it won't have any impact.. the casual listener, if it hadn't already leaked, would wait for an ilegal download as soon as the album gets released anyway

Seems like they can't be bothered. Apart from Graham Norton, absolutely nothing. HFB 1 had many live sessions, radio interviews, TV appearances. Nothing like that for this album.

It's early, yes, but this leak was more an intimate thing between us  |

Still looking forward to buying the vinyl at FYE on release day here in the US. If they don't have it I'll buy it from Amazon or Noel's site, but I like buying a physical copy on release day instead of waiting for the mail.
