I love that the opening lyric is pinched from my favourite beatles song :') Haha Something is my favourite too. Along with Strawberry Fields Forever on a shared first spot.

This has got to be one of his best songs ever right? I truly believe that right now. It's everything that's amazing about Alone on a Rope with a CLASSIC chorus and Noel harmonies to boot. I want material like this to be Noel's legacy. I met Sardy a couple of yrs ago and told him that as a fan I dont want NG to be remembered for being a rip off merchant obsessed with The Beatles. Turns out that it was NG ditching Sardy that has reached that potential. I can die happy hearing this song. Majestic If anyone needlessly and shamelessly Beatlefied the sound of Noel it was Sardy. I truly hope he is history when it comes to further Noel productions.

It's a good song - won't be listening to it in a year, though.

Does anyone else this sounds a bit like Loose Fit by the Happy Mondays?

GREAT SONG! Wish though he had some more balls, and used a bit more of the sax.. especially near the end.

I can't give up. I still can't understand that drums pattern for the chorus. This is a gem guys.
If this song doesn't get a: Grammys Brits Nobel Oscar All awards
nominations I will change world.

It sounds like the natural successor of Broken Arrow to me (just like BOTMI is WAL evolved). I already love Broken Arrow and Riverman is better...the solo alone is a joy.

A definite 10/10, what a way to start the album!
Absolutely love the little saxophone bit, and the guitar interludes!

From what I've seen outside if the fanbase, many who about him dislike him because of Oasis or his ego in 90s. Don't expect anything major other than a tongue and cheek flip the bird award from NME, as he and Oasis had gotten throughout the 2000s.

In total they have been nominated for a 91 awards and won 36. So that's not necessarily true. They should've won a lot more though.

Sadly has a knack for producing backwards sounding recordings. Meanwhile Noel's new style is more modern and fresh. I hope the age of Dave Sardy is completely closed. I thank him for helpin to pull DBTT out of the ashes but that's all.

CY sounds so light and fresh and interesting compared with the muddy and ploddy NGHFB (which don't get me wrong, is great) I hope Noel deletes Sardys number from his phone. Anyone good at phone hacking that can delete it?

I'm not British so I wasn't aware the Ivor Novello and Q awards, I was mostly talking about in the vein of grammys. As for the Brit Awards, hasn't Noel said lately they've been more pop centric in nominations?

And to think that a chance encounter with Morrissey is responsible for this classic of a tune...
