I love "While The Song Remains The Same", but I'm a guy who still loves "Soldier Boys...", so what do I know.
I'm having a hard time to listen to "The Right Stuff" to the end. Just not for me. But again, I'm a guy who never liked "Alone On The Rope", so what do I know.

But again, I'm a guy who never liked "Alone On The Rope", so what do I know. Its not my favorite on the album but I really like the bit where he loses the girl then it goes back to the harmonizing. |

That was really difficult. I'll be honest. The only position that is firm is that The Mexican is on the bottom. Really strong album IMO. I've only listened to the album once but that song didn't work for me. I didn't like The Mexican at all after my first listen, but it's starting to grow on me. Still one of the weakest tracks on the album though. I think it'll be great live, those guitar parts sound quite good. |

The drums on Chasing Yesterday are very well played, with lots of jazzy fills and wise rhythms. I'm loving them. |

I like the album, but the first one was better (in my humble opinion). That said, the singles are: Lock all the doors, The dying of the light and You know we can't go back! I think this album is a grower... WTSRTS is the best track on there. Was so excited listening to it the first time. Was surprised from 3:10 where it just unexpectedly starts bubbling and comes to the boil-love it.
That aside, I can hear the greatness of Riverman but it just isn't my thing i think;ITHOTM I've loved since i first heard it but like mentioned above is taken to another level still in the context of the album;TGWTXE I'm sure i will come to love but not quite there yet; LATD and TDOTL brilliant; TRS again not really my bag, kinda reminds me of GOYHHL but definite improvement on that; have more love for TM than most would appear to in here;big fan of YKWCGB (what ever became of the magic can't be right? Because i kept thinking of that title the first couple of listens to this); BOTMI again like ITHOTM seems even better in the context of the album.
Overall 8.5/10 but can envisage it moving to 9 territory after a few more listens

Its unfair to compare it to the other post Oasis albums and get swept in the newness and excitement of a new album but I believe its better than the two BE records and better than NGHFB just on production alone. But who knows I might get tired of it in a few weeks.
