I hope it's the AA remix and we get half an hour of a woman screaming 'Norway! Norway!' to orgasm over a base track of sitar, drums and backwards guitars

Releasing a demo at this stage of proceedings is damn near pointless. Either release a single to drum up more interest and airplay before the album drops or don't release anything. Can't see the point of this at all.

By the way, would anyone be so kind as to get me a copy? I'm going to London for the Royal Albert Hall gig in March and could pick it up then (in case you're too lazy to post it ).

This is stupid, just give us the song FFS. Album was announced 4 months ago and we've only heard 2 songs off it, but hey! At least we get a demo of a song we already have a sound check of! Imagine if Noel actually did an an album with a good producer, video director and management...

I've got to laugh. The only reason any of you have even heard The Dying of The Light was because it was bootlegged. You were never meant to hear it till now, it's as simple as that.
This vinyl / demo is a bonus to the fans.
So many of you are so impatient its unbelievable, it's bordering on greed. The album is out in 2 weeks, most likely will be streamed the week before and the Japanese release will probably be uploaded too but all you read on here recently is complaints.
I'd hate to see quite a few of you back in the 1990's and before when the only way to hear a new song was to buy the album or single. Now it's just "give me it now". People need to learn some patience and grow up.

Yeah is a pretty good strategy for HVM as they get £6 through their till's for a 1 track vinyl and people are more likely to then spend £12 with them getting the album with a discount voucher. Id say this is just a bigger part of a deal done between HMV and Ignition (the remasters had the same thing happen with them) making friends with the only real major music chain in UK is not a bad thing to do

Like Jim said, I'm so happy to have the demo in a few days because we are getting the album version in less than two weeks. I don't get why people are so mad about getting the demo. We are going to have the two versions, that's better than one only. :\

People need to learn some patience and grow up. I've not heard The Dying Of the Light in any form. Not even a cover. So I have no idea what to expect. Which exactly the point. Since the release is so close, the first time we should hear the song (for those of us who haven't) should be the official release. Then after that only should we hear the demo. It completely lessens the impact of the record version by releasing the demo before the album version. It's pointless. Either they should release the album version first as a single so that that becomes the version the world hears first. Or they shouldn't release anything at all. I don't want to hear reviews of he song before the album version is released FFS.

I'm personally more excited to find out its the defo the demo, surely it makes it more special than just a track of the album?

If you didn't listen to the soundcheck version after all this time (and well done for doing that, I'm too weak for soundchecks and leaks ) I'm sure you can wait for the album version, it's only two weeks away. It's not like it was with Freaky Teeth, that we only had the demo and the live version for years before having a proper release.

If they release it now, no one bar the hardcore fanbase will care to buy it. After the album is released and The Dying Of the Light becomes a hit single, more people would be interested in hearing the demo. Maybe even those outside the core fanbase. If the vinyl is really just for the hardcore fans, then releasing it now makes no sense. The hardcore fans don't need a £2 reduction as an incentive to by the album. They wouldn't be hardcore fans if they did.

I, for one, am glad about ANY unreleased Oasis-related demo or outtake that finds its way into the public. This could even be a version that was recorded whilst Oasis were still together just like most of the officially released HFB demos (parts of the songs were apparently written back then, according to Noel), though I doubt it. I find that aspect fascinating. They are very probably saving the studio version for a proper single release.

Also, TDOTL will not be a hit single. It'll repeat what IIHAG did.

Yes but if HMV can get the hardcore buying from them and not tesco or amazon etc then they got probably £18? in sales per hardcore fan for selling on 10" vinyl and and album vs the £0 they'd get when some one buys it of amazon if theres was no incentive.
