"Had your little fun? Did you shoot your gun?" - We get it Liam.
Honestly, its a touching song that showcases Liam's mood swings. He goes from bitching at Noel to saying I love you let's knock it off. Also the outro is too long.

Terrible song on an otherwise good album. Liam's songwriting seemed to have regressed on BE compared to Gem and Andy who both stepped up big time, especially Gem.

If it had been left up to Liam, Oasis would NEVER have split up.

I mean the lyric is "don't BROTHER me". Enough said. Cool background music though. Song is alright but bother/brother pun is just embarrassing. It's not a pun! "Don't brother me when you're done" means "don't turn around and act like we're brothers and treat me like your brother when you're done doing your thing". It's a figure of speech that's been used elsewhere. Dumb example: The Simpsons. In a episode where Homer and Marge fallout, he says to Marge "But you're my soulmate" and she turns around angrily and says "Don't soul mate me!"

Apart from the bother/brother thing, it just screams pure envy on Liam's behalf to me. "Always in the sun, with your number one"...really?? It's a song which I try to hide from people that I introduce to Oasis and the Gallaghers, purely because of these lyrics.

I like how Liam implied it could have been about Paul in the BE track-by-track.

Not to defend Liam in his lyrical talent (he did write Beatles and Stones... so... not always defendable ) but in this case, even though the lyrics are simplisic, "Always in the sun" might mean that he's still shining, in the spotlight and "With your number one" because he was still singing Oasis songs or because of the award Morning Glory got where Liam went and accepted the award by himself? That's how I've always interpreted it anyway.

In a episode where Homer and Marge fallout, he says to Marge "But you're my soulmate" and she turns around angrily and says "Don't soul mate me!" I know exactly what the lyrics mean when put in the context of the other lyrics. When isolated like "Don't Brother Me", most people who speak English (never mind those who don't) will think it's a pun of "Don't Bother Me" because "Don't Brother Me" doesn't make any sense out of context. Even if it wasn't Liam's intention, that's the unfortunate outcome of his failed attempt to be clever. It's the same with "The Death of You and Me". It means something completely different if taken out of context. The difference is, while many people will listen to Noel's song to understand the meaning of the title, the vast majority have no interest in listening to Liam's music.

The lyrics aren't meant to be taken seriously I don't think, it's very tongue in cheek, not that it makes them good or anything, just saying.
The melody is what makes it great, love it.
Love this performance.

I don't think that part is a stupid lyric per se but the song's lyrics as a whole are a bit dumb. You have to be in context for them to make sense. But if you take it from a BE newbie's point of view, it's a Little James type of moment right there lyric-wise and the song itself is not strong enough to overcome that.
But for a long time fan, it's enjoyable.

The first time I heard the song, I really enjoyed it, especially the long psychedelic outro. However, it's not one that I've chosen to listen to very often since, unlike others on the album.
The lyrics are a bit shite but not in a comical Digsy's Dinner way. They just come across as a tad bitter.

Fuck me Beatles and Stones is probably is in my top 3 Beady Eye tunes.
I prefer the BE album to the NGHFBs bar Iz Rite and Start Anew.

The chorus' melody is very good. Lyrically it's poor. The verses are ok, the outro is pointless. The chorus just about saves it.
