Noel Gallagher once penned a song entitled " Where Did It All Go Wrong?" Somewhere between his last album and this I would have thought. This song is extremely meh. Yet he probably wrote it before most of the last album.

I think it's absolutely stunning. ITHOTM grew on me, but this was love at first listen. For anyone outside the UK - Shoes hung over cables above a road indicates that drugs are for sale there... Ha, you realize that is an American thing, specifically a NYC creation. Thanks for the heads up, I thought that started years ago in Bristol

Good tune. Much different vibe than I expected. Yeah. The big shock was that our expectations were set on a 'by the numbers' massive Noel tune. But it's quite different than his norm. Once you get past that, it's great.

Whoever said you can't hear Johnny Marr in this clearly hasn't listened to his two solo albums. That little guitar part at 1:41 into the video is pure Johnny Marr stuff, for example. Classy. Maybe we were expecting a big guitar solo? Yeah, but still... Marr is great at filling the track with his little touches here and there, and his sound is immediately recognizable. Listen to the very little guitar solo in the end of this song. You can clearly hear Johnny. It's a song called "Into Oblivion" by Lisa Germano from her in 2006 released album "In The Maybe World". I really like Lisa Germano. She's very underrated, but has worked together with Johnny, Neil Finn and more. Also Kirsty MacColl (RIP) who was a very good friend with Moz and Johhny. This song was written by her and Johnny. Johnny also played a guitar on this song. and now I just found out by reading the inner sleeve of this album, it was produced by Steve Lillywhite. Small world! * Apologize for off-topic post of mine.

Once you get past that, it's great. I'm not sure that some fans on here will go "past that". I'm really dazzled at looking how much harsh criticism it got: it's obviously different, but in a good way. It looks like too many people are always expecting another DLBIA: we won't get anything like that, we don't live in 1995 anymore. This is "2015 Noel", if you're looking for "1995 Oasis" we've got plenty of material to listen to! On another note, people also complained when IIHAG came out, because it was the usual "Noel 4-chords stuff", and they're already complaining about The Dying of the Light because of the same reason. I can't really understand what they want from Noel...

Through this link: www.amazon.co.jp/gp/aw/d/B00RX7ISPM/..you can see that 'Revolution Song' is in fact the new b-side. (FYI: I'm just showing the screenshot for those who don't want to click the link and read nothing but Japanese.)

I can understand the disappointment they might feel, but if they don't adjust their expectations from the 90's or even 2000's, they're not doing themselves any favors. Noel is making an attempt at changing his style, he's trying new things and I think hes done wonderfully thus far. Then again, there's no pleasing everyone.

Really digging the bassline. The bassline is the most catchy part - which has never been said about a Gallagher release before!

I know it says 24th Feb, but I wonder if we'll hear it before then? I'm guessing no. That would give us new material for Feb, along with the releasing of the vinyl and serve as promotion for the album which by that point is only a week away.

The bassline is the most catchy part - which has never been said about a Gallagher release before! Bass on Go Let It Out and Gas Panic is great. Yea, but they're not necessarily forward on the mix like it is on this and TBWTL. Quite a few Oasis tunes have decent bass but they're not so up front.

Here's Don't Look Back In Anger if anyone was looking for it to be released today. It leaked in 1995, you didn't have to wait that long. Quite a tune, actually

Hmm. Probably won't listen to that again until the album drops if I'm honest. Bizarre song for a single. On an album it'll be great but as an isolated tune it builds up but goes nowhere.
