Yeah, it's pretty common in the US. Saw shoes on cables all the time growing up in Vegas. I've seen shoes hanging around over here as well (in the Netherlands) Never knew what it meant, until now, lol. You're dutch? You just went up a trillion points on the fit scale, and you were already pretty damn high. Congratulations.

Where do you see any shoes hanging in the netherlands, I've never ever seen that in my life (living in the netherlands as well )

So is the shadowy figure in the video that sort of resembles Liam supposed to be Liam? Someone brought this up in the comments, thought it was an interesting interpretation.
At one point Noel even looks at this shadow man as he's singing 'I will find you!'

I love this song. This is a song that I won't ever get tired of. Also, has anyone noticed that despite it's length, it doesn't seem very long when listening to it? it's been on repeat all day long for me and haven't once gotten tired of it.
Also, definitely, despite it being longish song, I'm always surprised that Marr's bit at the end happens so quickly!
Haha, this album is going to kick my ass, I just know it. It's off to a terrific start.

There's shoes hanging next to Bellgrove station in Glasgow, just off Duke Street.
Just thought you'd like to know.

If anything, the song is about finding a long lost friend, loved one, or just longing for some sort of piece missing from your life. No big deal.

I'm shocked no one has said they could see Liam singing it. I'm also shocked that nobody noticed that if you pause the vid at 1:07, the graffiti says "pkwo robbc", which is an OBVIOUS reference to the fact that Oasis will reform and will headline Gastonbury in 2015. The song does somewhat miss an explosive Chorus, but other than that it's a great song. This album is going to be top-drawer.

Not sure what it means. Probably nothing

I really like The Ballad of the Mighty I. I prefer it to In the Heat of the Moment. I was scarred because there was a lot of bad comments. However, I was really surprised.
The atmosphere of the song is really great. The key changes are interesting and Noel's vocals are really good. It's not the greatest song ever, but I think it's a good single choice.

To the sick fantasy island, where everything Noel does is somehow connected to Liam. No, it's NOT. You are worse than the freaks that claimed McCartney's dead.

No need to be an ass about it. Secondly, if it's the director choice to put in a bit of symbolism, then it won't have much to do with Noel anyway, it has to do with the director, his interpretation of the lyrics and his vision of the video.

King Robbo is a semi-famous British graffiti artist, who is well known for his feud with Banksy. He recently died, so it'll be one of many tributes to him. More here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_Robbo

Noel Gallagher once penned a song entitled " Where Did It All Go Wrong?"
Somewhere between his last album and this I would have thought. This song is extremely meh.

Ok, but that would be the cheapest possible form of "symbolism" - putting a ghost Liam in the vid. The director would have to be 14-yo to do something like this, sorry man, not having it.

I have no idea. I'm not even sure I agree. I saw it pointed out in the youtube comments, and thought it was interesting. I'm not sure why that would make a director the age of 14. It doesn't even much look like a ghost. Looks more like a man in darkness. Just enough light to make out some features, but not enough to see him in full. The youtube comment suggested it was Noel's shadow. And he suggested it was Liam. Obviously, when looking back at it, I can see why they might consider that. Nothing to throw a fuss over.
