ITHOTM wasn't great, this one is one of the biggest garbage of the rock history... after the problem with the illuminatti and the real people we can think that at least there is justice in this world. Its better to burn that to fed away... thanks for everything mister gallagher ! Are you OasisBlues or whatever he's called? Oh it's definitely OasisBlues. Sad dick.

Trying something different these days would be to go straight into the rock n roll mode.
He's more than playing it safe, adopting the sound that's in nowadays, these kinda songs dominate the indie charts, and he's repeating What a life part 2. Heat of the Moment was more of a risk than this.
I respect everybody's opinion, but this is not a risk at all.

This song craps all over anything Beady Eye has produced. What did people want? Supersonic Part II? Wow. I did wonder who would be first... You might just have to except that some people don't like it.

I think I have to listen to it trough some better speakers when I get home, but here's my opinon so far:
The Video: I like how they break down the 4th wall in the video, and it goes a bit meta with Noel watching the video being edited in the video and stuff like that. Very funny when the "director" calls Noel Liam, and tells him to have the right energy in his eyes and the stuff about Chris Martin is brilliant. Noel looks cool walking, but there's not a whole lot going on. I still think Noel walking suits the song somehow, the song describing some sort of journey and finding someone. I'm not sure who that guy stalking Noel is supposed to be. Btw: is that Johnny Marr (or at least someone supposed to look like him) laying on the sidewalk? It also looks like the guitar Noel picks up is one of Marr's guitars or the same model as the ones Marr uses.
The Song: Follows the vein of What A Life and In The Heat Of The Moment. The production and mixing uses many of the same touches as on ITHOTM, with high-pitched guitar arpeggios, bass gitar high up in the mix and processed vocals. Nice bass groove and drum pattern. In terms of structure I gotta say the song lacks something. Several times it sounds like there is a build up to a great chorus, which I'm not sure that the "I'll find you" part is. When the song gets to 3:33 in the video though, I kinda expect the song to explode with guitars into a middle 8, with electric guitar and distortion. This is where I expected Marr's guitar solo. That would've made the song way better and given us the outburst of energy that it continues to tease us with, and reduced the need for a more classic structure and strong chorus. Maybe a bit like in What A Life, but with a real solo on top? There are some good lyrics too, but I think I need to listen more to the song and read the lyrics to really "get" it.
It's better album closer than Stop The Clocks which I've always disliked very much. Stop The Clocks had a crescendo though that this song could've benefited from. Still, I like BOTMI better in total. It works better as an album track than as a single I think. My guess though, is that the song will work very well in the context of the album, after all the other songs which we are about to hear the near future. It gives you the feeling of a journey, with the sound and the lyrics. It has potential, which unfortunately isn't fulfilled. Still I think it's a nice album track with good production. Hoping that it'll grow on me when I get to listen more to it with good speakers rather than from my ultrabook with headphones.
My rating: 6/10
(haven't listened to the radio edit yet, is it any good?)

Seriously fuck off to everyone who thinks this is a good song. The man is obviously STRUGLING TO WRITE GOOD MELODIES THESE DAYS so he puts everything in the production and the vibe to cover up up for shitty ,forgettable tunes.
The first two songs were average or decent at best, but this is completely weak. Massive fucking dissapointment from one of the best songwriters of the last 20 years.

God knows why he didn't do this kind of thing in Oasis. Probably because in Oasis he had Liam, who doesn't really approve anything 'different', and he probably felt he had to create a certain sound for the fans i guess I thought Noel had said that you can't write for anyone but yourself on many occasions. Liam was hardly even singing any of Noel's songs by the end so I'm pretty sure if the boss had wanted to put something on a record and sing it himself he could have.

He was going to reunite Oasis but this woman just blew him off. Liam must be pissed.

You might have to accept its a fan of Noels music who doesn't like the new tune.

Bloody Noel: just heard it the first time and was going to come here and just moan about it, then I just heard it two more times and ten minutes later was singing it in my mind. It's not a masterpiece, but it's intense and I like it more than WAL.

After listening to the 30 second teaser then the extra 60 seconds last night and now the whole song today....totally dig it.
It's like a song another band/group would've put out with his lyrics/singing over top of it, like a Chemical Brothers collab. Like it a lot.

Seriously, this track is getting too much hate.
I can understand that it's not what somebody was expecting from Noel, I can understand all the criticisms about the "more poppy" sound, I can understand that hardcore fans might not like this... what I really can't understand are people calling this shit, talking about bad production, about the song going nowhere (again, where should it go?), about the useless Johnny Marr contribution (you'd better go and listen to some recent Marr stuff then).
What were you guys expecting? Fucking Starway To Heaven with a 10 minutes long solo in the middle of it? Van Halen? Happy by that Pharrell guy? Supersonic? Little James?

I love it and I think it will be a hit (well, as much a hit as Noel can realistically have nowadays): as someone said, as pop and catchy as WAL but as sonically richer as FD. I hope the rest of the album is as good as this. We are in 2015, lads.
On the bad side, I do not know how this will sound live

Quite strange: I'm not loving the song (I'm liking it, but that's all), but I can't stop listening to it. It gets better at every listen. The solo/licks by Marr are absolutely beautiful!

It has most certainly grown with every passing listen. Still would have liked a soaring chorus, but fair play overall.

Well, the no-solo part... didnt expect one really, i mean, there's only 2 on his previous record, and these where older songs written for oasis.. Some moron on here started a rumor that there were guitar solos on every song bar one (which was believed to be ITHOTM). KNEW that was bullshit. Who gives a shit about solos - some of the shittiest Oasis songs have solos in them? And what gives about people moaning about melody? As I said, the 'yes I'll find you' refrain is gonna be stuck in my head all day, and it soars in a similar manner to 'Hang in there love, you gotta hold on' from Everybody's on the Run. The music is quite dancey and funky, but the the lyrics and melody are very dark and melancholic, with a hint of menace. The combination works superbly, which gives depth to the tune in a way making it one of his most interesting songs along with more obscure tunes like Alone on the Rope. It's got balls to it! I fucking love this song from the start, and it gets better and better and better. It's as far removed from dad rock lumpy shite like The Good Rebel and thank fuck for that!

These might be his darkest lyrics since Gas Panic. He is in full on stalker mode. Missed an opportunity with the video. Could have had him following the girl around.

And it most certainly is missing the big fuck off chorus, after a great build up in the verses. So much potential wasted. Drives me insane when Noel misses the mark in obvious ways like this.
