Highly recommend The Race For Space by Public Service Broadcasting. If nothing else, listen to Valentina.
Courtney Barnett's new album is well worth your time too.

I'm loving that Kendrick Lamar's new album is confusing the fuck out of critics mainly looking at you Grantland and Stereogum.
I've only heard it once but damn the album is intense in emotion and style. It is polarizing, complex, filled with self doubt, but its an extremely confident work. Love that this is so left field, the Thundercat post G-funk influence on it is legit. Never been super into Flying Lotus but his prints are all over these.
I have a feeling that a lot of people wanted a Good Kid Maad City Part 2, whether they will admit or not, but I'm glad he didn't go that route. He is polarizing his fellow rappers and those critics that loved him, and I absolutely admire that. He's been one of the top rappers in the game for a few years now, but now he is becoming one of the best artists of his generation. He has a vision.

I quite like Kendrick Lamar's album. And I fucking hate Hip Hop or Rap. I can't understand every word I listen so I don't know if he's taking the piss of gay or women, but I didn't hear so many "nigger" and "motherfucker" so that's quite good.

Absolutely loving Kendrick's new album. It's so dense, musically, emotionally, politically, I'll be revisiting this for months. I didn't really see how he'd follow up Good kid m.a.a.d city, it was such a singular work, and he wouldn't be able to draw upon his own pre-fame life or construct such a narrative again without repeating himself, so great to see him expand both his sound and his consciousness.
This'll take ages to unravel, which I like in an album, provided the depth is here, which I think it is in this case. Not a lot of singles here, except I and the Blacker the berry, which have already been put out. Not a criticism, just would be nice to hear him get airplay

Looking for lyrics or Lamar's album. I heard some things on Eminem's record. Really, I wonder if in the US it's ok to write things like that, against women for example. In Italy he wouldn't survive not even 5 minutes, really.

Plastic Mermaids from Isle Of Wight has released a brilliant EP this month called Inhale The Universe. Their first one from last year is great, as well. I've been listening to them every day this week. I love them. Nothing to complain about, at all. Check them out on Spotify or buy the EP.

I'm really looking forward to listening to Undertow by Drenge. I'm not a big fan of their first album (too heavy for me) but as of now I like both new singles, "We can do what we want" (played at Letterman's show) and "Never awake". Also NME just gave them a big 9/10.
Let's see if they can match the success of Royal Blood, but I think it's almost impossible, they won't have the same push from their label that Royal Blood had.

Royal Blood are under a major label, that means $$$$. Drenge are under an independent label (under BMG Rights management) who let artists to keep 75% of the royalties, if I'm not mistaken. They have on their roster Alt J too. And Superfood who is a band I love. I don't really like new James Bay's album, it's a little bit boring IMHO. Just like Ed Sheeran's one. Bay has the same co-writer of Jake Bugg, Ian Archer. For sure he's going to be the next big thing, he's under a major label and they're pushing him a lot.
