I just get that sense.
Personally, I like NGHFB's but it's lacking in the energy that Liam would provide (an aspect that is pretty much accepted on this forum).
I normally would be okay with this prospect - I like Noel's song writing, and we're just going to get the same Noel songs as albums past. And for this it will get the same meddling reviews as his 2011 effort, NGHFB.
From what we've heard, it's even hitting the same pattern: In The Heat Of The Moment (which now bores the fuck out of me, mind), is the AKA...What A Life, and Dying of the Light is the If I Had A Gun, and to some extent Lock the Box Chorus is the Record Machine, and Revolution Song the Stop The Clocks (albeit left for the bonus tracks).
Biggest shame of Noel's solo career is that he's hitting peak song-writing form again, but it's not under the Oasis moniker with the Oasis members. NGHFB and CY with Liam's vocals and charisma, along with Gem's guitar work would have propelled Oasis fully out of the dark ages, fully completing what both DBTT and DOYS threatened to do with their glimpses of brilliance.
I like Noel's songs and consequential albums. He always performs consistently good and puts on a show in his own way. But the magic spark is missing, and that's where the indifference comes from.

Nah.
I've got a feeling this will be different. Okay, maybe it won't be as "out there" as Noel is trying to convince us, but I think it won't be as safe and samey (I thought a few songs on HFB were a bit samey, some similar to Oasis songs, some similar to each other.). HFB was a good album though, and if it will be in the same vein, I will be slightly disappointed, but at least I will like it. I hope it's different though, and I've got the feeling it will be.

Shall we wait until we've heard the album before writing massive appraisals of it..?

I agree with this. When we'll hear Might I in the next few weeks we'll be able to judge more clearly, but I'm not expecting "NGHFB part II". I loved the first album, but now I'd like to have something with more energy in it, with some epicness or psychedelia sprinkled here and there... I'm quite sure that CY is going in this direction...

I totally disagree. Or maybe I agree? What I mean is; I doubt CY will 'lack energy' but perhaps its all in how you perceive it? Your taste might be (or most likely will be) different than mine. I think NGHFB was a well balanced album in terms of energetic tracks and slow tracks. You're right CY will probably have the same balance but to me that's not a bad thing. After all, if I want 'energy' and 'raw rockers' I sure won't be looking in the N section. God I feel like I've been typing this reply for years and I've hardly matched your first paragraph
Anyhow, my wife has just come out of the shower. Good times ahead!

I thought similar about NGHFB for the longest time. But the truth is, we have to adjust our expectations.
It's not an Oasis record. It's not typical stadium rock any more. He's onto a different style, one that more suits his voice. It's venturing more into modern pop, which currently many older, surviving rock acts are transitioning to, much to the dislike of their fans.
Oasis is done. Maybe they will reform in years to come, maybe they won't. We can only try to appreciate what they're doing now. But again, we have to adjust expectations.

It'll go #1, hang in the charts for awhile, the tours in the UK will sell out and we will get a third album for sure. That's enough for me. Hopefully it'll sound good too!!!!!!!

FYI............Don't even ask to hangout before the show Beady’s Here Now. I have an image to uphold and protect.

To be honest, I can't hear these songs from HFB being part of Oasis album. Maybe my imagination is lacking something but i can't hear Liam singing most of them. Maybe Record Machine. To me Noel knew that Dig Out Your Soul was their last record, he was tired of Oasis direction or maybe no direction other then trying to sound more and more like modern Beatles. It's interesting to imagine how the next Oasis record would sound like with the songs we know from both projects , but to me the next album just wasn't meant to be.
The biggest difference though, and the missing spark for me is not the lack of Liam. It's the shit production that we're dealing with on HFB album. It's pretty sad and i don't know why is that, but the first album sounds much worse than the last 2 Oasis records and it doesn't looks like this time will be much different.

Yep, Oasis are very well known for that famous guitarist Gem Archer and his guitar licks which contributed to so many great songs..... said nobody. Most of us would love to hear Liam sing these Noel songs I agree, but that would unfortunately come at a cost in Oasis, with half the album made up of mediocrity from the other members like Dig Out Your Soul. So yeah, I'd bite your hands off for a Noel solo album in favour of the alternative. Especially one with sax solos.

It would have been nice if Oasis had a critical comeback, DBTT and DOYS sort of changed the perception of Oasis being past it. Neither of those albums have the quality of NGHFB though because of the songwriting democracy that dramatically lowered the quality of the 2000's Oasis albums.

I want the album to be different, with an emphasis on the music and not the lyrics; the lyrics should compliment the music and be secondary; and I want the music to enter through my eyelids like how the lizards of the Galapagos Islands breathe in air.
God bless.
