Since Noel made it clear that Oasis wont be at Glastonbury, if he decides to play in a headlining role do you think there is any chance he would ask Liam to join him for a tune or 2? like Morning Glory etc... I think that would be massive if liam walked out for a few belters. Could you imagine the crowd and news headlines. Massive!
thoughts?

thoughts? I would actually prefer something like this to a 'reunion tour' performing the hits. If they were to reunite, I would want a new album.

I suppose it's possible. They are on good terms and it's not like Liam is super busy.

I actually was thinking of this the other day , but it's so not what noel is trying to do now , if he did that , nobody would talk of his solo set , all the questions would be " are when are oasis returning " I would love it , but Can't see noel doing it , he is not that sentimental type imo

it would never ever ever happen.
Noel left oasis to be a solo star / the main man. During oasis noel probably became very frustrated that he was the brains behind oasis / the songs / the music and liam would get the press for being liam. Solo noel gets the glory and its mostly music based but more importantly what he's achieved totally himself either way and thats what he wants.
Liam will never cross HFB path.
I do believe noel will reform oasis when he's ready to do so

Noel won't be headlining glasto.
Eavis said he'd booked the headliners ages ago and Noel said at his FB interview that he hasn't been asked...

It would be very very cool. But I can't see it happening, for about 5 reasons.
1) It would take the shine away from Noel's headline set 2) It would just add more and more fuel to the fire of 'Will they wont they?' 3) Can you REALLY imagine Noel going 'Please welcome, Mr. Liam Gallagher!'. The answer to that is no. 4) He left Oasis for a reason 5) I don't think Liam's head is in the right place at the moment

With all the reunion speculations one thing is sometimes escaping us i'm afraid and it is the TIME. Oasis and all their greatest hits was kind of a youth anthems band. Noel is 47, next two years he will be busy with the new album, so no chance, then Liam probably will release something so i'd say it won't happen in the next 2/3 years for sure.
Now, do we really picture 50 or more years old Noel playing Cigarretes And Alcohol or Morning Glory with Liam ? I mean, of course. The Stones are still rockin' and all, but looking at Noel now, and where he is musically and mentally.. I don't think he'd be into it. I'm afraid it can be too late for Noel very soon from now. Hope i'm wrong and Gallaghers will suprise us yet.
To the original threads topic: Cool idea, but it won't happen. Noel's to safe and conservative for something like that. Again.
We live in dying dream, if you know what i mean...

You make great points HOWEVER .........AREN't townsend and daltrey passing themselves off as ' the who " and wailing " hope I die before I get old " ?? And when was the last time mick was a " street fighting man " ? 1964 ? Point is the day will come they will play and the stands will be full ...they won't look any more ridiculous than those geezers singing songs they too can no longer relate to

He could headline the Other stage though.....

Yeah, reckon subbing someone on the Pyramid would be more likely though. Either way, Liam wouldn't be involved.

Don't understimate Noel. He sold more copies than Muse's 2nd Law in England with HFB1. He could headline Glastonbury, imho. If Eavis wants to pick up the most popular artists he should take Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran and Olly Murs. If he wants to pick up great rock n roll (or sort of) artists he should take someone else. If Kasabian can headline it, Noel can too.

Earlier this morning he said that he's available for that weekend,
The other day Noel said that releasing an album in march is perfect for Glastonbury. There's something that we don't know?

Mmh, I can see him doing Glastonbury, but I'm not sure whether he could headline it or not, he'd probably play before the headliner on the Pyramid Stage, like he did at V or T in The Park in 2012

If Kasabian can headline Glastonbury so can Noel
HFB1 in the UK outsold Wasting Light, 2nd law, Suck it and See, Velociraptor etc.
2nd biggest selling rock album of the 2011 after Mylo Xyloto
In England HFB1 sold more copies than last year's (2014) Glastonbury headliners last albums.

Well they're quite big at the moment, plus they're known for being a fantastic live band, that definitely helped them NGHFB was a successful record, and Noel got plenty of positive reviews about his performances at festivals, most of them describing him as one of the highlights, but I'm not sure he's big enough to headline something like Glastonbury, if Ballad Of The Mighty I and then CY do well commercially maybe...

Velociraptor + 48:13: 400,000 copies sold, more or less HFB1: over 750,000
Singles Kasabian: 0 certifications HFB1: 2 silver certifications (400k)
Kasabian are great and I really like them, but if they can headline Glastonbury so can Noel. Imho. It's the same with the Arctic Monkeys before AM
Also the Gallagher can play Don't Look Back In Anger, Wonderwall etc.
