I still think it's a great album and each week it stays in the charts puts a smile on my face. Not bad for a 48 year old man in the modern age of downloads.

21 years ago, Whatever got to number 3 in the charts, narrowly missing out on the number one slot. I'm all for starting a campaign to get its b-side to the number one slot this Christmas.
Definitely not going to happen but a nice idea. Something about the cyclical nature of the universe, as Alex Turner once mumbled.

Woah. The the Smiths one didn't do well at all. That must've been a kick in the teeth.
I'm not sure about the UK, but over here the Aurora one isn't getting a lot of airplay. I've heard it a few times in the first few days after it came out, but haven't heard it since, while last year you had the Tom Odell one on the radio every day, about 30 times a day.

Of course 1D now have the fastest selling record of the year but surprisingly (for me at least),they beat Noel just by 4k copies

I dont think that whole advertising campaign has done that well this year, that somewhere only we know cover was all over the radio, everyone who Ive spoke has said its a nice advert but not as good as previous years, I havnt heard the half the world away cover at all on the radio yet.

The sad truth is that Adele could be in with a chance of beating Be Here Now as the fastest selling uk album of all time....

The sad truth is that Adele could be in with a chance of beating Be Here Now as the fastest selling uk album of all time.... I seriously doubt it. CD sales have dropped off dramatically over the last 10 years. When you go back 20 years its even worse. People in general are "buying" all formats of music less outside maybe singles. Coldplay had the best shot back in 2005 with X&Y and even they came up short.I do believe people are stealing music consistently. It's so easy to do. Surely Adele fans are "smart" enough to know how to obtain her new album. That with what i mentioned above will keep Be Here Now the champion.
