Muse are one of those bands that have sold loads of albums and sold out huge venues yet I know absolutely nobody who likes them... Muse were fucking phenomenal until their 4th album and since then I've never known a bands quality dip* so much Earlier Songs like Citizen Erased, Deadstar, showbiz, Stockholm Syndrome are truly outstanding If you'd asked me 10 years ago if I liked Muse I'd 100% of said yes now they're just shit and seem to get away with it *i say dip, I really mean fall off a cliff with a 100 tonne weight tied to their waste

Kasabian could be another, great debut but only selected singles reach the highs of their debut.

Unfortunately that's the case with a lot of bands. Or they have it the other way around:first few albums shit, only the 4th album is good or something. There are only few comtemporary bands that have an excellent discography, probably none.

Kasabian could be another, great debut but only selected singles reach the highs of their debut. I'm quite critical of Oasis' post 2000 output but honestly Muse's downfall is far worst. The last few songs I've heard (I haven't even brought their last 3 albums) were almost painful to hear. At least Oasis had 3 or 4 great songs per album,
I agree on Kasabian, their debut was awesome but nothing has come close since.
Strange thing was Muse was they were getting better. Showbiz was decent but quite rough, Origin of Symmetry of a huge leap and Absolution was a leap again. Everything was set for them to do a heavier version of TDSOTM or The Wall, a concept album for the 21st century but they regressed horribly. BHAR was ok but it was just a straight forward 11 track album with good singles, it seemed a backward step from the concept heavy Absolution.
The less said about the other two the better

My 19year old nephew is massively into them and follows the everywhere to see them live. Don't really get it.

Current sales figures anyone? 181.5K up to last week according to the Buzzjack forum. They are usually pretty good. Last weeks #21 sold 4.5K So UK sales right now ~ 186K I'm not sure about worldwide. Somewhere around 335-345K I would guess He sold 250K in the first 4 weeks worldwide. 116K of that outside of the UK. He has sold an additional 9K in Japan since then. So using just those numbers he sold about 311K wordwide to this point not including any sales from any other countries other than Japan and the UK after the first 4 weeks. I imagine the numbers are higher than that in actuality though On the last week that he is accounted for on the worldwide chart (week 4) he sold 25K worldwide and only 8K in the UK and 1.7 in Japan, so had sold more than 15K outside of those 2 regions. I would think we could probably safely give him credit for another 20-30K at least in sales in the rest of the world for the past 12 weeks,
