I can't believe how many negative comments I'm seeing on this, especially from the one guy saying he'd listened to it through his TV, not just his laptop, and still didn't like it. It's hands down my favourite Noel solo tune released so far (although Freaky Teeth is pretty close)/ Rock n roll is why I started liking Oasis and this is up there - far better than all the "anthemic" watery, soppy, ballady, lighters-in-the-air stuff like If I Had a Gun and Everybody's on the Run. I can see why it was going to be the album opener and that sax is ace. If this is just a b-side I cannot wait for the album. Johnny Marr's praise may actually be more than just hype.

And who gives a shit if you can't hear the lyrics properly? They'll be written down in the album cover for those who care and indecipherable lyrics never stopped Manic Street Preachers being brilliant.

Based on that poll, it seems like it's only a few of us that prefer DTD over ITHOTM. I just can't listen to ITHOTM after DOD. It just seems boring.

Well, it's a matter of taste really. If one doesn't like a song they should be able to say so. This is a forum after all.

Can you imagine driving on the Pacific Coast Highway in a Cabrio with a hot girl listening to Do the Damage? I can.

Okay, uh, look, if you want to just keep on doing the same old thing, then maybe this idea is not for you. I, for one, am not going to compromise my artistic integrity. And I'll tell you something else, this is the show and we're not going to change it. Thanks. NO *throws plum* I apologize for my comments earlier, I was on a lot of coffee. Starbucks blonde roast, wow. God bless.

Do people actually own record players anymore, besides DJ's?
God bless.

That sounds made up. Dank. I also own a record player and so a do a few of my friends. They've definitely have had a revitalization (check the sales for Jack White's latest album).

It pisses me off immensely that I can't buy the single on CD. I do wish we had proper CD singles like in the old days. But I guess there's less point if its released as an extra track on the bonus disc, as opposed to the Beady Eye DGSS bsides which were never released on CD.

Listening to ITHOTM & "Do the Damage" back to back is quite satisfying! I'm good 'til the next single release + album release date. I thought you're stuck in college near the northern lights without Gallagher access. Well, it's what you made it sound like on your site awhile back lol! Good to see you Cam. I had to pull your leg a bit. I'm off to College next year, not this year. And my internet was knocked out at that time I said I had no Gallagher access.

"Maybe the dream that we had is gone, the people like here are like a setting sun"
I'm paraphrasing the lyrics but that melody reminds me a lot of the 'Maybe the songs that we sing are wrong" from It's getting better man.

But I guess there's less point if its released as an extra track on the bonus disc, as opposed to the Beady Eye DGSS bsides which were never released on CD. Vinyls are made in smaller quantity than CD's. Remember, with CD's and vinyl you not only pay for the distribution costs, but also if they're not sold and have to sit in a warehouse, then you're also paying a fee for the housing and another distribution fee for the shipping back to the distributor. That comes out of the artists' pocket. Releasing vinyls which are made in smaller quantities negates that loss because they're less of a chance of excess product. Also, you can charge more for vinyls because you can charge them as special releases. You can do a limited release of a single on CD, but you'd probably be charging the same price to make and distribute as you would for a wide release. Almost makes no sense to do a limited release of a CD single financially. But it does with vinyl. Making it a mp3 release also negates cost too. So, doing a vinyl and mp3 combination release actually might mean bigger profits for Noel than if he released mp3, CD, and vinyl. I think releases with vinyl and mp3 singles have become far more prevalent. Especially as almost no one buys a single on CD anymore. Noel isn't the only artist not releasing CD singles anymore. They financially just don't make sense anymore for any artist, even Noel.

I've watched this about a dozen times. I like ITHOTM, but DTD seems to grab me more. I hear BHN (it's probably the chord structure and the piano) as others have said. Also cheers to this guy. Lots of energy.
