Listening to ITHOTM & "Do the Damage" back to back is quite satisfying! I'm good 'til the next single release + album release date.

Think I'm the only one who doesn't like this? Doesn't sound very inspired. No. I think it's uninspired and dull too. Not catchy at all.

That sax solo-melody is so familiar. I can swear that's from an Oasis-related material, perhaps a live solo he did. In the next year, my subconscious will uncover where it's from. But it's most certainly from somewhere in Oasis. A man with a watch knows what time it is. A man with two watches is never sure. God bless.

I thought you're stuck in college near the northern lights without Gallagher access. Well, it's what you made it sound like on your site awhile back lol! Good to see you Cam. I had to pull your leg a bit.

I'd like to listen to the actual song without all this overproduction malarkey. Noel's voice can't be heard at times.

I quite like it, a bit better than ITHOTM actually. I like how the intro is longer and the song ends sooner than you think, leaving you wanting to hear it again. I hear bits of Full On, PYMWYMI, and My Big Mouth 2009. The rumbling bass, upbeat pace, sax, female vox all work well.
A good complement to the single too. I would love to hear it live.

I'd like to listen to the actual song without all this overproduction malarkey. Noel's voice can't be heard at times. The vocal mix is atrocious. I truly hope that no other track on the album is as muffled as the chorus on Do The Damage. It takes away from the song. But yes, I will be looking forward to a live version, maybe even an acoustic version. Other than the low vocal mix and the low saxaphone, I like the production. It's still creative and very clear, I think part of the reason for the inaduble vocals is Noel's strange pronunciation of many of the words, which adds to the problem.

Do you think this is the actual version considered for HFB or was it rerecorded?
Is Sardy on the credits btw?

Noel's take on Black Rebel Motorcycle Club's "Weapon Of Choice". Yup, the whole time this song was playing I was going "What is your weapon of choice, what's your weapon of choice, what is the weapon to free your soul..." The chorus in Do The Damage is exactly the same as the BRMC song.

Is Sardy on the credits btw? He shouldn't. This is a completely Sardy-free album.

First solo song that he has released that truly begs for a Liam vocal

The day after:
- I don't like the intro. You can hear the sax, what's that? Homeland's opening track? Also, it's too long. - I don't really like the first verse. - You can jump straight to 1:00. But, after that, it's great. - Voice overproduced. Come on, Noel.
Maybe, in general, ITHOTM is better, but from 1:00 to 3:09 I love Do the Damage.
I needed more cymbals with the drums and a guitar solo in the middle.

Think the Sax was one Russ' ideas, he always had sexy Abi Zuton didn't he.

I prefer it to ITHOTM although I understand why he has put that out as a single. This is simple, doesn't outstay its welcome and at least has a little of the fire I thought had been missing from Noel's songs for a while.

I think I saw a picture of the single cover and it said "produced by Noel Gallagher" and it was mixed by someone who wasn't Sardy either.

Oh, the only really disconcerting thing is the 'Maybe the dream that we had is gone' bit. My mind slides into Its Getting Better Man!!

Sad that the great Clarence Clemons isn´t around anymore now than Noel is starting to put sax solos in his songs
