Do the Damage is at #12 on Germany's iTunes Alternative Singles Chart. ITHOTM is at #9. Oh, great. If only I could buy both of them from the German iTunes store...

Isn't brillant, but is good enough for an b-side and bonus track. If Noel had put Do the Damage as the opening track of Chasing Yesterday, would be an weak lead track, but fortunately isn't the case.
I enjoyed very much. The rythym, the groove, the disco feeling and the guitars are very good, and I like to see Noel's freedom. Would be awesome live.

So do we think Noel changed the lyrics to Dying of Light and used the bits here instead? We've got "all you need is heaven sent" and a lot of "gold" in the city.
Dying of Light has the two lines "When all the love I'm gonna need is heaven sent" and "I was told the streets were paved with gold"

Yup a good b-side. Harks back to when used to write them for Oasis. I like the backing vocals, both the lady's and Noel's kind of angry ones towards the end. I didn't realise it was sax, I just thought the solos were a guitar effect. I prefer the a-side though. Good to hear him coming out with some proper up-tempo stuff.

Now how cool would have this been on DOYS, with driving tempo and the menacing undertones? Fuck off, TNOR and AGN. This is probably the greatest post you've ever contributed to this forum ever. I completely agree. Sounds DOYS ready for Noel's original idea.

At first listen: brillant. Loving the new sound, definitely a step away from the usual Oasis formula while still having a great melody...really really good for a b-side.

To those saying it's better than ITHOTM: I feel that the large majority of you would be saying the opposite if DTD had been the A Side. It's best to give these songs some time before making sweeping judgements

Some thoughts:
Decent b-side, nothing spectacular, but not bad
I hope he doesn't do it live
If it was written by his brother, people would be wanking left, right and center

This song borrows a lot from Full On. The piano bit, driving guitar riff, and tempo. I still like it nonetheless. Just glad it's not another the good rebel.

pretty damn good. very be here now-ish. No, it would have to be louder and 3 minutes longer.

The falsetto bits sound so much like Arctic Monkeys AM. Do you think that's what he was sort of going for? I certainly don't mind. Sounds good.
I don't like the sax, because I can barely hear it. Needs to be louder.

The sax remind anyone else of the Put Yer Money Where Yer Mouth Is bassline? Parts of this song keep reminding of the National Anthem by Radiohead, but that's probably just a combination of the random background samples and the sax more than the actual song. Yeah I get what you mean, it's all the off-key stuff in the background at certain points. That and the sax solo are the best things about it imo.

I don't like the portion where he goes "stop me loving you",, and everything gets quite and it kind of reverberates. Sounds like a cliche from late 60's early 70's rock or something.

"Pay the rent" + "heaven sent" + sax solo = Lady Madonna
Love it though. Not as much as ITHOTM but I do love it.

If it was written by his brother, people would be wanking left, right and center Well yeah obviously, that's because Liam's only written 3-5 great tunes in his entire life and we (quite rightly) set the bar higher for Noel
