It was an excellent experience, although we nearly didn't get in due getting there later than planned, joined the queue and were given numbers 2 and 3 on standby, thankfully got in tho!!! EOTR was just amazing, and i agree with the above comments, his voice sounded really really great. Was nice to hear stripped back versions, Broken Arrow sounded really great as well, slighly different tempo to the recorded version but worked really well.
I could listen to him tell tales and just talking about stuff for hours. I also loved the bit where the audience got to ask questions and before it started he said if anyone asks me if i was to be in a supergroup who would it be with or which song do you wish u had written i will have to call you a C**t!!! It must be boring as hell being asked the same things over and over and over again, the bald Rod Stewart or fat Mick Jagger question made him laugh!
All in all it was a fantastic experience to be sat feet away from your idol for 2 hours!

I didn't like Broken Arrow there at all. Was he playing different chords? Sounded like he was off-key or something.

Thoroughly enjoyed listening to that acoustic performance of Broken Arrow. It really showed how it differentiates from being just another rehash of Wonderwall, like the album version suggests. The slight key change, along with the slowed tempo made that happen very well.
EOTR & IIHAG sounded great, but I would've loved to have heard The Death of You & Me or Dream On, instead of A.K.A. What a Life!. The full band & album versions sound so much better, and it's kind of like Falling Down, the justice of the song can't be done on acoustic.
Great performance nevertheless.

If I remember correctly he mentioned that he has ten songs for the third album already recorded but has only written two lines for them so far.

hsmichael, you were literally sitting next to me! Were you with your Dad? Was an excellent day - a shame he didn't do any new songs, but there we go. There was a Fender strat with a capo on on stage, heard it being soundchecked, nice clean tone with a bit of delay, sounded great, but obviously wasn't used. Had some good banter with his sound tech, who was a scouser. Saw Phil Smith hanging around too. Broken Arrow was a bit too slow for my liking! Everybody's On the Run was the best song he did - he took a while to warm up in the interview but he was the Noel we all know and love to listen to by around halfway through. Gary Crowley was in the audience and asked the longest question of all time. All the key facts about the interview have already been mentioned! I'll leave you with this pic I took. A pleasure to see him at such close quarters.

Noel was on great form and it was great to hear some new stories such as the Serge Pizzorno sleepwalking one, because usually we get to hear about Squares crisps and Boots. But Noel pointed directly at me the minute he got on stage which was amazing!!! http://instagram.com/p/vy2mqMBziQ I also managed to get some of his guitar picks and ended up taking his bottle of water too.

If I remember correctly he mentioned that he has ten songs for the third album already recorded but has only written two lines for them so far. If I've learned one lesson concerning Noel Gallagher is to never get too excited about all his "potential" projects. For example.... - Death In Vegas - DOYS Kinks themed side project recorded in LA during mixing - AA album - This 10 track album of instrumentals with few words Good luck with all that.

View AttachmentHe double taked at the fella next to you from Match of the Day! Although i don't really want to shatter your dream there...he did the exact same thing as we walked out with an added "wheeeey". He was straight out of the door as he came off stage into a taxi, which was a shame!

It's so frustrating to hear how prolific Noel claims to be at writing/recording compared to how much he actually releases. I reckon most of the DOYS side project became HFBs - he mentioned the "aka" titles and TGR back then. Sounds like some of the AA album has been re-recorded for CY. So we'll hear this new stuff eventually, just after Noel has had a good few months of WWII movies and tea first...

yeah the bloke's just took my videos and put them all together. How amazing was EOTR though?! Sorry, you're right, the audio is indeed taken from your videos. He could at least give you some credit... Anyway, that performance of EOTR is amazing. The reason why he never played that in acoustic is a real mystery to me...

8th/9th December. 6.30pm 1st part, 2nd part 3.30pm on the 9th.
Songs on the broadcast are unlikely to be in full - though they should go on the website.

love Everybody's On The Run Broken Arrow was a total bore. shame cos the demo was amazing. The Death Of You & Me would have been a better choice. his voice was a bit shakey during the first radio shows, would have been nice to get a new version with Rowe on keys.

I didn't like Broken Arrow there at all. Was he playing different chords? Sounded like he was off-key or something. Perhaps he played it without a capo?

The reason Broken Arrow sounds boring is because he's singing offkey for most of it.

nutsngum is correct. The Noel Gallagher 'Mastertapes' session is scheduled for a Dec 8th broadcast next Monday at 23:00 for the "A-Side" part of the broadcast, so says the description here. The "B-Side" broadcast, as will be assumed, is for Dec 9th and will include the performance of the four acoustic High Flying Birds tracks: " Everybody's on the Run", " If I Had a Gun...", " AKA... Broken Arrow" & " AKA... What a Life!". *EDIT: There appears to be no further information on the "b-side" broadcast. But more later.
