This is a series of radio programmes interviewing artists. A new series starts on Monday 10th December and Noel Gallagher is on at some point - not the first show which is Rufus Wainwright. There are twelve episodes in the series so he could be on after Christmas / closer to the album release. www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/proginfo/2014/45/mastertapesTwitter feed confirming Noel is on and mentioning that there will be tickets available: twitter.com/JohnWilson14

Quick, you people need to apply before someone who wants to ask about his favourite colour does!

Surely now is the most appropriate time to ask questions about Alone on the Rope.
Radio 4 and John Wilson are more 'upmarket' so they wouldn't stoop so low to such trivial and dull questioning so fingers crossed.

This is the sort of area Noel needs to be doing for interviews. The Facebook one where he announced the album was all well and good as an attention grabber, but to promote this project properly I think Radio 4 will be rewarding.

Hopefully someone will ask him a couple of questions about the Oasis reunion.
We've never heard questions about that so far...

Boy, I can't wait to hear how he came out of Tesco's, walked past Boots and suddenly had the idea to finish Lock All The Doors! Such an exciting story that NEEDS to be repeated at least a hundred times!

"Is Razorbarb an early version of Don't Look Back In Anger?"
"Why haven't we heard Slow yet?"
"When was the last time you heard from Guigsy?"
"What are your opinions on Beady Eye's two albums?"
Just a handful of the questions I'd like to ask.

I'm usually disappointed by some of the most stupid questions people could possibly ask Noel.

There was this Paul McCartney Q&A on Twitter recently and someone asked what his favourite cheese was and another asked his favourite colour.
But then there was someone who asked if he had liked being in the Beatles. NO OF COURSE NOT WHO LIKES GETTING FUCKING LOADED, BEING ABLE TO BUY 30 HOUSES AND 50 CARS, BEING CONSIDERED A GENIUS AND A HERO AND GETTING LAID BY EVERYONE YOU WANT?!

Why would this interview focus on the FIRST HFB's album?? Who gives a shit at this point. My God, the press are complete and utter idiots.

The series is a look back on one particular important album in an artists career. With Noel, there's only really three realistic choices to make and seeing as he's just coming back to release a new solo album, and look back on the last one was probably the most suitable choice.

I'm actually more excited at the possibility of a live performance than the interview.
Even of it's just him with his acoustic. Would be really nice to hear something off the new album.

Seeing as the programme is about the first album, I'd be surprised if he played anything new. Probably If I Had A Gun and What A Life, but it'd be nice if he played something else off it as well.

I'm in the minority but I think that song, without all the production, has a weak melody.

I'm right there with you on that. When you play it on guitar, it's pretty much two chords that have little differentiation, until you get to the chorus, then it's two more chords, and back to the mundane two chords. It's a good song, I won't doubt that, but on acoustic, it's bland.

Broadcast dates are scheduled for 8th and 9th December. Cheers for that deadman. John Wilson's a great interviewer, seen him a lot on Newsnight. The son of ex-Arsenal keeper from the 60s and 70s, Bob Wilson.
