Liam needs to go away and come up with 10 or more great songs, whether that takes him 6 months or 5 years.
He needs to come back with a great album with at least 2 big singles so he can regain the commercial success he was after with beady eye.

A few years ago, I was shopping around for a new house and noticed a really cool house in a nice gated neighborhood--cool as all fook inside and out--and lo and behold, there was an OSCAR on the mantlepiece over the fireplace (I got to touch it). The story was the house was owned by a professional songwriter, who was having to sell it because he needed to move to Nashville to peddle his songs (a friggin' Academy Award winner for Best Song in some movie). Nashville has become a songwriting FACTORY, and it's not all New Country. My main point here is that there are THOUSANDS of pro songwriters (in many countries of the world) who would give their right eyes to have one of their songs covered by Liam Gallagher. Elvis seldom wrote songs; with his voice, he didn't have to. In fact, "If I Can Dream" was written especially FOR Elvis, because only his voice could have pulled it off.

Liam needs to get some Kasabian style modern sounding beats on the go with his next venture (presuming he does something before the inevitable Oasis reunion).
I'm not a fan of Kasabian, but that first album of theirs is the kind of album Oasis SHOULD have been making in the 2000s instead of becoming more regressive, plus Liam's vocals over Kasabian style music would sound amazing. A good beat, a good melody and Liam's voice on the top - it would be the best thing this side of the milennium to happen to Liam!

I've never gotten the fascination with Kasabian to be honest. Most of what I've heard is rather bland. Just bland electro rock music from what I can tell. That being said I do enjoy Days Are Forgotten and some other stuff off whatever album that's on (Velociraptor I think). Maybe I'm missing something...
I really would love to hear LG make a solo album with some more established writers outside of his circle of mates and acquaintances. Perhaps he should take Sitek up on what seemed to be a very public offer. Just my two cents though.

Can't Noel just write some tunes for Liam's solo album ? They're brothers, they should support each other

In fact, thats what that Death in Vegas album in 2004 was all about, but the producers - ran out of time with their schedule and Noel G was not happy with what they did, so they went and recorded Don't Believe the truth. Would be good to hear it finished someday, if Noel thinks its worth it. But I don't see it being an official album with a tour, just finished off and released by Oasis management most likely.

Relaxation, time with his girlfriend, time with his friends, being a millionaire, doing whatever he feels like doing - what bloody dark years these will be. Money is not everything. And often being rich makes you isolated believe it or not, because not everyone is like you. But I am sure he is used to that now. And when he first became rich, he was probably laughing his head off.

He's got Pretty Green which is quietly being very successful, its not like he's skint or anything. As much as I want one he just doesn't seem like the type to go on a solo career, d'you know what I mean? He could do an Ian Brown and pleasantly surprise us all, he's definitely got the demeanour to pull it off. But would the songs be any good with Liam at the wheel? He's used to being in the front passenger seat, and with Beady Eye he was in charge of the gear stick and look what happened. Beady Eye were not that great, in fact if they had carried on being called Oasis I don't think it would of mattered at all. If they were called Oasis, it might of made more sense. But all it sounded like was "Oasis without Noel" haha. And I think Pretty Green was not only a clothing line idea, but an idea that if Oasis money dried up (not likely though) there would be something else for him to make cash from and do with his time.

OT, I listened to DGSS for the first time in ages today, out in the sun on a nice day. It's a decent, really fun record imo. It's easily the worst of the post Oasis albums but by 2010's pop/rock standards it's bloody good and Liam sounds brilliant on every song. I'm still fucking annoyed Liam packed it in, they were a decent band and were awesome live 90% of the time.
We could've been expecting another Gallagher album within a year as well, maybe as early as October :@ FFS!

Kasabian live are something to behold. A bit off topic but they are truly fantastic.

Kasabian live are something to behold. A bit off topic but they are truly fantastic. I also thought they were great live but the record that had just come out at that time, felt rather flat and processed. Never really got into them as such, but sure they're a good band.

The Darkness are better than Kasabian.
