It seems that the announcement was made really quick, maybe in a drunk moment. Because there is nothing on the official site and it was liam gallaghers tweet. Lou Archer seemed shocked and I think, that some of us here maybe knew it before Gem or Andy heard it.
It`s pretty weird and not a good ending. Don`t know, but somehow I`m disappointed by Liam, although nobody knows what had happened but them.

Not a necessity, i mean, if you look at all his tracks, over the past ten years, it's a strong line up. Thinking maybe he's got some leftovers as good as those, with a bit of work and some new tracks he could release a strong 10 track record. But he would need a couple of huge tunes. That i dont know if he's capable of. Strong album tracks yes, memorable singles, he's got to prove that He hasn't written enough tracks in his entire career to make a solid album and I doubt that'll change anytime soon. He has lots of good ideas but always somehow falls short. He needs a co-writer. at the end of the day he's not not his brother who's an amazing song writer and average front man he's an amazing front man and poor to average song writer.. No biggie if he wants to go songwriter route then he could, how many songs were elvis'? not many at all |

Absolutely. Like he always wanted to be Lennon, now he suddenly is in the perfect moment to make it happen in his own way and style and time. I'm sure he somehow enjoys the situation now too. As much as he wanted to be loyal to Andy and Gem, through this couple of years, he really has more opportunities without them. He's FREE. Remember ? I'm seriously more excited for this situation than new Beady Eye album coming. It's all still open, i always believed Liam still didn't say his last word and now it looks like something really interesting can happen. I'm sure he won't let Noel bored us to death with his High Flying Birds. As fans we should be looking forward to whatever is new and not that much safe cause usually good things come up from this in rock n roll.. And honestly, right now when we're worrying about his "dark years" he's probably hanging out with The Who or something. He'll be fine.  Only difference between Lennon & Liam though is Lennon wrote some of the greatest songs of all time. Liam wrote one song that charted in the UK. I'm all for a Liam solo record but he is going to need some co writers for it. Well, two, but everything else you said is bob on, unfortunately for Liam |

He's got Pretty Green which is quietly being very successful, its not like he's skint or anything. As much as I want one he just doesn't seem like the type to go on a solo career, d'you know what I mean? He could do an Ian Brown and pleasantly surprise us all, he's definitely got the demeanour to pull it off. But would the songs be any good with Liam at the wheel? He's used to being in the front passenger seat, and with Beady Eye he was in charge of the gear stick and look what happened.
