Not sure if this has been discussed yet ...
so from the new video, it seems Russell Pritchard is still around, but it looks like Jeremy, Tim and Mike are perhaps out of the picture. Is this what Noel meant when he hinted a while ago that the band The High Flying Birds wouldn't be a static formation?
Looks like Terry Kirkbride on drums (Noel once said that he wasn't the kind of person who would fit into the band long-term), and a random in a hat on keys.
Any thoughts? I got quite attached to the old band. If you watch Jeremy on YouTube he's pretty unbeatable as a drummer. I hope this is just a video shoot band!

It's likely only for that video, Jeremy just wouldn't look good in a video for such a poppy song

Tim Smith has confirmed on Twitter that he'll be back. He also "believes" Jeremy, and Mike will be back as well.

I think that Noel did this video thing last minute. I think he just called up whoever to fill in the gaps. Don't think it says anything about his touring band though. But then in his most recent interview he said that he hadn't seen his touring band in ages and he was looking forward to catching up with them.
The way he talked about his touring band made me think that he was using the exact same guys.
Excited to have Mike Rowe back. Russell certainly shaped up. Presumably Paul can reproduce what is on the album since he recorded it. The drums on ITHOTM aren't like the heavy beats on HFB so I'll give Paul Stacy the benefit of the doubt.
As for Tim. He was mediocre. Not a lead guitarist by any stretch. Someone who talked to him told me that he had never been asked to do lead guitar before Noel. He was kinda thrown in the deep end considering how critical we are. I would have liked to have had a new guitarist but he didn't suck he just wasn't amazing

Paul? D'you mean Jeremy? I thought after the last tour that he was a bit luddite, but he can solo and play jazz like a fucking maniac

I can say all the band have been asked to play with Noely again for next tour. Rowe and Stacey played on the record. NG played all the bass and guitars. Rehearsals in January.

I think that's a good move to have Stacey play on the record. I think it will lead to MUCH better live performances, because he won't be trying to nail down the Noel drum parts. He'll be much more comfortable, with him playing his own part, and it'll go better than the last time around, which was pretty good itself. I'm pretty sure he played on HFB.

I think he's actually a great drummer, but the arrangment Noel wanted his songs in and the heavy handed production of the first album didn't make him sound good sadly for Jeremy.

Does anyone remember how awkward Andy and Gem looked when they first joined? Seriously, they looked weird. Andy had no beard and looked like he wasn't old enough to drink and Gem kept wearing oversized clothes. I think because they've been around for some time we forget how weird and crap those first initial band photos were with them.

Keyboard player is Paul Newsome from Proud Mary. Him and Noel go way back. Oasis used to support his old band the ya ya's. And Noel signed Proud Mary to his Sour Mash label. With Paul being a guitarist can't see him being in the band playing keys.

I'm not convinced (have you heard him do Digsys Dinner and that performance of If I Had A Gun on Letterman? Jesus wept), but I do agree, the way the album is arranged is where most of the fault lies. Let's not forget though that that's not all on Noel either, it was yet again the fault of Sardy who told him to re-record the drums, and lo and behold, we got incessant plodding...

That may be so, but we have no idea what the drums sounded like before they were re-recorded. Maybe they were even worse, and yes, that is possible.

Gem can jump on second guitar now aaayyyyyy Can Gem have some self respect and not jump directly into HFB? Wait at least for the next album/tour one. I would love to hear material from a new band of Gem, Ride for Andy and whatever Liam does(collaborations/new group/solo) it be fine for me.

I'd say it's Noel on drums on ITHOTM going by the style/sound, sounds similar to those he drummed on for DOYS which were BIU, WFTR and SO. I could be wrong tho but it doesn't sound like Jeremy to me.
