Just wonderin' if anyone knows what songs Oasis have ripped off and made into their own? if you know what i mean (no pun intended)
I know of quite a few, just wonderin if anyone knows of any others...I love to see how close Oasis have come to the original when they've bin thievin!
The ones I know of:
Shakermaker = I'd like to teach the world to sing Supersonic = The Tragically Hip - Bring It All Back & George Harrison - My Sweet Lord Bring it on down = Guns n Roses - You Could be mine (kind of) Cigs & Alc = T Rex - Bang a Gong Whatever = Neil Innes - How Sweet To Be An Idiot DLBIA = John Lennon - Image for intro (obviously) She's Electric = The Beatles - With A Little Help From My Friends...aparently & somat from the intro of an old kids TV prog Step Out = Stevie Wonder - Uptight Fade Away = Rod Stewart & Small Faces - Stay With Me Half the world away = Burt bacharach - This Guys In Love with you Masterplan = Spirit - Taurus....maybe a bit of Stairway in there too Hindu Times = Stereophonics - Same Size Feet (1997) Mucky Fingers = Velvet Underground - I'm Waiting For The Man Lyla = Rolling Stones - Street Fighting Man Part of the Queue = The Stranglers - Golden Brown
Think thats all i know

Shakermaker = I'd like to teach the world to sing
Noel actually says Shakermaker ripped off flying by the beatles. The melody is exactly the same too.

On 'Live Forever', the documentary thingy, Noel says that the opening line of Live Forever (the song) is ripped from Exile on Main St. "May the good Lord shine a light on you" etc.

For all this ripping off none of the songs overall tune owes itself to someone else other than 'Half The Worlf Away' (B-Side), 'Shakermaker', 'Step Out' (B-side),'Whatever' (solo A-side)
'Mucky Fingers' and 'Part of The Queue' were inspired by other songs but to me barely sound like the ones that are mentioned.
All the others maybe have a small piece here or there but the overall sound of the song is their own.
Unlike 80% of pop and rap that actually use the exact sounds from another song for the whole way through.

I can't hear hpw Supersonic ripped off My Sweet Lord. They sound completly different, same goes for She's Electric and A Little Help From My Friends.

Not the whole song, but the vocal harmony at the end. DId you honestly not catch that? Oh and The My Sweet Lord Supersonic has to do with the same notes being played in the solos of each song. Also, Lyla sounds nothing like street fighting man...

most of the songs owe fuck all to other artists. she's electric's vocal harmony at the end... the !"ah aha ah ah" falsetto is the only thing it's similar to with a little help from my friends. the acoustic version of supersonic does sound a bit like my sweet lord

The Turning is very similar to Devil Woman by Cliff Richard.

Didn't The Real people once claim Oasis had ripped off Listen Up (or was it Rockin' Chair - I can't remember) nearly completely, "[...]only lifted a couple of foul chords..."
Has anyone heard the Real People song?

Some would question who haven't they ripped off?
In any case, whatever they've ripped off was improved.
