Noel said he was'nt happy with the AA album,so now that he's produced the new HFB album he's had chance to tweek a couple of AA tracks and include them.

I wonder if it is closer to original/demo or to AA version. If it is a tweak of AA version would they get a coproduction credit on track?

YES! I knew we were going to see the AA album tracks again in some form or another. I wonder how much of this album is from those sessions?

Since he is going to release this song as a single, maybe we will get the AA mix as a b-side like we did on some of the songs from the first album. Either that, or somebody will get ahold of the album and leak it. One can hope anyway.

So I uncovered the first mention of this tune a year ago! I'd forgotten all about that.
It would be nice if some of the original AA versions surface as b-sides. Depends on whether he could be bothered to tinker with the mixes. He certainly had the time - a year of recording to produce a 10 track album!!

YES! I knew we were going to see the AA album tracks again in some form or another. I wonder how much of this album is from those sessions? I think it's likely that ideas in instrumentation from the AA session have been included, but nothing directly from those sessions. If you cast your mind back to Standing on the Shoulder of Giants, I think it was the case Noel re-recorded Bonehead and Guigsy's parts on that album after they left so as not to give any performance royalties to them. It could be a very similar situation with AA on this album.

Last night I dreamed iTunes uploaded "Ballad of the Mighty I" early by mistake. Disappointed when I woke up.

I'd like for a leak, but I think I'd rather he release it naturally. Hopefully NOT a month before the single itself is released, but rather the day of. If it's the best song on the album like he says it is, then it will set the bar for what we can expect.

Lots of bouncy acoustics.

just found this from a year ago,the track was recorded during th AA sessions and called "the mighty i" according to one of the engineers who was present Post Options . Post by mossy on Nov 13, 2013 at 8:50pm OK, reading his tweets in more detail, here's proof the pic is from Noel's album sessions: @je_suisNatalie What happened to the Noel & Amorphous Androgynous album? That is what I want to know. @grantyh @je_suisnatalie he shelved it. I was one of the recording engineers on the album. Amazing songs, real shame. Mighty I is a killer Read more: live4ever.proboards.com/thread/77946/aa-album-recording-studio#ixzz3HHH8gKTYI know it's a lot to ask, but it would be nice if someone with an actual twitter account could tweet the guy and ask him if he remembers any other songs recorded during the Noel/AA session!?

Sent from my DROID RAZR using proboards Perhaps this is the source of Noel's snotty comment about producers sue-ing you for co-writing credits in one of the Irish interviews last week?

So he traded the AA for Johnny Marr? That's a win.

Just bought tickets to see Marr early next month. Hoping he will accidentally start playing his part of The Mighty I by accident. I know it sounds impossible but what's to say it could't happen?

That's a really interesting point. Maybe that was a contributing factor to Noel scrapping the full AA album? The fact that they'd added so much stuff themselves they'd need a writing credit and so share the royalties (like on SAHITS)...

I think it is more likely that the songs collectively weren't good enough. A man can only take so much women orgasm noises in the background for so long. It was starting to get old back in 2008.

And let's be honest for two seconds here, Noel is a pussy for first announcing the AA album and then shelving it a year later. I was more excited for that than HFB. Maybe it's good, maybe it's shit. I'd like to have listened to it regardless. At least make it a free download via his website.

I'm expecting the AA stuff to trickle out slowly as bside material mostly.

The songs from the AA session were finished at the time the HFB songs were, Noel in 2012 said he wanted to finish God Help Us All and Revolution Song, so Ballad Of The Mighty I ISN'T God Help Us All

Noel says he plays electric guitar and that Johnny Marr's guitar work is "beautiful, very melodic and reminiscent of his Smiths work".

Noel says he plays electric guitar and that Johnny Marr's guitar work is "beautiful, very melodic and reminiscent of his Smiths work". That's good to hear. His work and influence on HC was pretty mild. Kinda disappointed. His sound and playing with the Smiths is HIS sound and I've always wondered how it would work with a Noel written tune. Love his jangly playing in the Smith's. It was the first thing that made me love the band.

I'm trying to keep expectations for this album low but I'm finding doing that increasingly difficult.
