Lately I'm losing interest in Oasis.
Only a few songs are still interesting to me, and it's been this way for about 6 months. Many songs I once loved just bore me now. Maybe it's the simplicity in their music--none of them are exactly amazing technically at their instruments. And as for the present / future, Oasis isn't really evolving like a band should musically. They're pretty much staying the same which I don't like.
Lately I've been into bands like Rage Against the Machine. Great vocalist, amazing lyrics, cool guitarist.... Primus too. Really really top band. I'm also still really digging the Verve too. The Allman brothers are also great.
Hm, I don't know what it is. I didn't think I'd ever be this bored of Oasis. Maybe when time passes I'll come back and look at this thread and think "Man was I kidding myself?"

I'm the opposite a lot. I try and listen to these intricate bands with fantastic musicianship and jam bands but after awhile I get sick of a million instruments, weird sounds, lyrics so abstract they could be making fun of the listener and they woiuldn't even know it so I then go back to Supersonic, Wonderwall, I Hope I Think I know, Go Let It Out, Lyla etc.
Take for example the Flaming Lips "Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots" some songs ( the ones I like) are basic rock songs with maybe a little twist. However there are a lot of experimental songs that after awhile I just go, who wants to listen to this...it means nothing to me.
Pour a cold one, crank up DM or DBBT and have a great weekend!!

You may want to move on and have a break from them at the moment, but one day you'll be in a shop or switch on the radio and you'll hear an Oasis number and it'll take you back to the great times you had, then you'll want to go home and dust off those old C.D.'s and start listening again.
You've loved 'em, and that won't go away.

I'm listening to other bands a lot more these days, The Beatles, The Stone Roses, Blur, Arctic Monkeys, Eagles, Foo Fighters, Metallica, Guns N' Roses, Radiohead, Led Zeppelin, Thin Lizzy, U2. Still, I can't remember the last day I didn't listen to Oasis. I wouldn't be able to do that

i dont listen to oasis as much as one would expect considering oasis is without doubt my favourite band. i guess cos im first and foremost a music fan so most of the time im thrilled by a new band or a cool album i just bought. for me though, even if i dont listen to oasis for a month or something, i still can definitely say they are a favourite just because i know that whenever i do sit down and listen to it the songs still blow me away. and i think that it happens because i dont listen to them on a daily basis, cos myabe its just my personality, but i do get bored if its the same thing 24/7, and not because i think i get sick of oasis.

It's just like love...Come and Go...you think you're not mad for him/her any longer and you do need some break, but in the end you'll be back where you've started. Keep the faith.

If you feel, that you don't like Oasis anymore, just stop listening to it. Delete all Oasis music from your PC, from your player, take all CDs to the very far place. And live without Oasis for some time. Interest in Oasis will come back to you in a week or two, but you'll want to listen to Oasis music again! Guaranteeed!

I have to add a few things...
Althought I'm a huge fan of The Smiths, The Jam (and Oasis of course), I don't listen to their albums often. I'm really get interested in (still) unknown or underrated bands recently. But then I know I'll pick one of The Smiths, The Jam or Oasis when I feel down, happy, sad...whatever happens they will always be the bands for my life and music is my life!

lol, this is like a help group....good to know im not a terrible oasis fan for not listening to them all the time. i totally agree with mimmihopps - there are just some bands (for me, its only oasis though) that you may not listen to daily (i think just cos anything you do every day is just boring) know you can rely on when you feel shit or the times you feel high on life.
like i hadnt dbtt in ages and then when i was in koh samui in july, just sitting on the hotel balcony with a view of the ocean, the wind blowing and the only possible album to play was dbtt and it just blew me away, just complletely fucking amazing.
i dont know how to explain it. there are just some albums you know have gold inside them, and that if you listen to it one day and arent overly impressed you know that its not the album, its just you being in a shitty mood. alternatively there are some albums you love when you first get them and then realise, actually, they are quite average.

Agreed. Im one of those people who don't necessarily listen to one band excessively unless its a new album and I'm gearing up to see em live. I can go for months w/o listening to OASIS but I still consider myself a fanatic coz I've loved em this long and I still get goosebumps when I listen to certain songs. Prolly the only band I would travel over to the UK for to see a live show.

Well I am bit of freak it seems, I am basically on a one oasis song a day diet on their "off seasons" lol But its okay to listen to other bands, I listen to the Stereophonics these days more then I do Oasis...but hey I discovered them about 8 years too late... its okay go explore....right now my husband (a huge Oasis) is on this massive Morrasiy (sp?) kick which is driving me mad, but you know...now might be the time to explore bands that made oasis what they are today... so when Noel says one of his fave songs is "waterloo sunset by the Kinks" you'll have a clue what he's on about...

My friends think I'm nuts I play em so much. I stopped. All the sudden, it was "hey play some Oasis man". Even casual fans after being exposed to it, can't resist it.
