gdforever, personal question: what are your thoughts on the new song? and, a/s/l? God bless. Yeah, I was wondering where my doppleganger has been, too....

You people have been blinded by desperation. After a year of Beady Eye you are "jonesing" badly for an antidote to that turdburger. You look to Noel to erase the unpleasant memory of Beady Eye but it's always there, lingering. It's a serious stink that needs a serious single to stem that stench. This is not that single. This is what you send to Robbie Williams as a joke, "Hey fatso, please cover this. Love, Noel." Ha! Have not been compelled to listen to new song repeatedly. Find it less of a track than anything on first HFB. Perplexing...

500k views over 4 days. It's slowing down a bit now, but hey, this is pretty decent. It's surpassed EOTR official video and is catching up to Dream On Official video.
And this is just the audio with some album information. I hope the official video performs just as well, if not better.

I really like it. I think it has the spirit of WAL without it being a rehash in any sense. I really like the bass and the bells. Makes me wanna dance around. The nah nahs put me off a bit in the beginning but I was used to them by the end of the song. I liked the song on the first listen, which is fairly rare for me, and it's grown on me even more in the last several days. I think that Noel is starting to work out his sound. And it's encouraging that he put this out as a lead single. He never would have put WAL out as a lead single. I think it shows that he is feeling more confident in expanding his repertoire. He had been really uncomfortable about WAL first time around. I think it has more energy than anything on HFB which is a good thing. It sounds like he is having fun. I'm encouraged for the album. I think it'll be massive live with the crowd singing along to those nah nah nah's

Just a little thing, what does everyone think the video will be like? Does anyone here think we will have a bunch of videos for this like we did of HFB? Where there is a story when you put all 3 together or will the music videos just be videos separate?

Bohemian like you - Dandy Warhols, which is very popular becaus of the Vodaphone spot in 2001 or so are you gonna be my girl - Jet seven nation army - white stripes Being honest I do like Are You Gonna Be My Girl, Seven Nation Army and Bohemian Like You but you CANNOT put Hey Ya! in the same list, nowhere near as good and the repetitiveness of it astounds me as it how popular it is If we are talking Outkast then it can never go beyond Bombs over Baghdad. As for ITHOTM I hated it at first. It did not slow burn as I hoped....I for some reason really really like it now.

Thoughts on this song: -Fucking hate the "na na nas" -I agree with everyone else...the verses are amazing. The chorus is only slightly above average. -No doubt he subconsciously ripped the melody off of Bohemian Like You by the Dandy Warhols. -Dislike how "you'll be by my side" is repeated over and over again. Let's get some new tropes Noel. -Love how Noel is branching out musically. This is the most "dance" a Noel song has ever sounded. To give a confession...I didn't really care for What a Life, but I dig this song a whole lot more. -The instrumentation he uses on this track is really diverse and cool. -Production is loads better than anything on the first album. Thank god for no Sardy. -Anyone notice the sort of heavy "industrial" sound Noel is using here is reminiscent of the original Hindu Times demo? -The song is really catchy. It gets imprinted in your brain very easily.
But most of all...
I can't help but think how awesome this song would be if Liam was singing lead vocals. I wish Noel had started to become this adventurous 10 years ago. Would have done wonders for the perception of latter day Oasis.

Noel really is the king of melodies, and this one has very good lyrics, even though the chorus is a little bit repetitive. It makes WAL sound quite boring now (never was a huge fan of that song).

I wish the guitar bit in the beginning played throughout the song and the nanana's started later

Also let's be honest, even though we may gripe about how unoriginal the chorus is...when Noel plays this live and sings "THE MOOOOOOOORRE THAT YOU WANT IT", you're gonna have 50 thousand people grooving and jumping up and down going apeshit over it.
The main reason I love Oasis is how anthemic the songs are. I don't get that larger-than-life feeling with any other band, and Noel does a great job of making me feel it again when he belts out that one note to kick off the chorus.

Definitely, I hope he plays it first as it will really warm the crowd up a set the pace for the rest of the gig

I like it get's better upon listens that's forsure. i wish those guitar sounds were higher as they are my favorite part. a little flat. I voted "Good" .
Im thinking in the context of the album it will sound better as a whole
The album is the pie Jenny the songs are the fruit.

One thing I'm not too certain about is the title, just 'Heat Of The Moment' would have probably been better but that's already the name of quite a well known song by Asia. 'By My Side' could have worked also.

So they finally played it on the radio this morning and I found it exciting since they never play Noel's solo work. It did sound nice. It got very positive reactions too, people loved it
