I wonder if liam would have been able to handle the vocals? Young Liam, Columbia esque yes but not now. They could have split it, Liam on verse and Noel on the chorus, that would have been epic IMO

ITHOTM is basically the only song I've listened to since it's come out. Still loving it. I even put headphones on and cranked it really high. I love the synth during the chorus. And I love all the little bells. It really gives it a 'magic-like' feel.

I wonder if liam would have been able to handle the vocals? Maybe, but only in the studio. It would be horrible live, but maybe not, Wigwam was always pretty decent despite him not hitting falsetto. That being said, I don't think Liam would want to sing on a tune like this.

I personally think this might be the best single that noel,BDI or oasis have realise in the last 10 years! There is something about this sing that just talks to me, the verses are brilliant and the little guitar run on the second verse just adds to the brilliance of the verses! The course is its weakest part but is still brilliant! I don't understand the hate and I think it's probably sour grapes just because come on outside isn't on the album! Noel said the second single is much better as well so it does show possible signs of a brilliant album!

I think at his age it would be difficult to deliver a meaningful rock and roll album like DM! Obviously this is just my opinion so don't hunt me down and stab me with a pencil! I prefer that he is trying to diverse his music just a touch, it keeps it fresh and exciting EDIT: sorry, wrong quote ?

Ya not complaining at all it's a brilliant song as is just wondering what it would've sounded like with an oasis touch. But I still believe my theory is right where this album was influenced and will sound much like paul McCartneys new album.

Good tune - the second album's answer to "What A Life".
Sky Sports will be using this anyway.

I reckon its gonna be a real anthem at the gigs. "Imagine" may be an artistically good song but this one is a proper belter.

Ask my son the same question and he'd tell you it's Gangnam Style. You need to steer him away from that! Why? He loves it

Absolutely ....but that's the point I'm trying to make. Name me a fucking mind bending classic song that everyone with decent musical should at least know of. Who cares anyway this NG tune is pretty shit. Everybody knows Hey Ya! My nan doesn't. So na na na(?).
...Anyway, who gives a shit. I'm sure ol' rice paddy fucks from rural China never heard of Wonderwall, their minds can still bend on some of their native folk shit whilst they pulling up on weeds in the dead heat of the day, or goddammit in the heat of the moment, pun fuckin' intended, to get the minds off of work by bending it to some other shit. If you know what I mean.

For me, the acid test is always 'how quickly do I want to learn it on my guitar'. For all the singles bar What A Life last time round, I instantly picked up my guitar to try to figure out the chords. I remember getting frustrated at the TDOYAM riff at first until finally conquering it. That's what makes Noel's music great for me, it's easy guitar music that's interesting enough to make you want to learn it. In the Heat of the Moment simply doesn't have that appeal. I don't feel like learning it on the guitar because there's nothing interesting about it. Just simple chords with boring chord progressions. As has been said many times, it's soft safe music for boring people. A 7/10 at best with the Noel factor. 6/10 without. Well, I tried fretting out Tchaikovsky on the ukulele, that shit is all a bit too frustrating for me, dude, to try and capture the essence that way.

Then if you want we can say the album is the worst album of all time before even listening to it
Are you pulling some reverse psychology on the people here?
If you are, let me get in on the fun: You have a nice family and a fulfilling job!

alternatives -from 00:15 i start to think how a remix could sound and first think in my mind was something close to Primal Scream's "Some velvet morning" a heavy bass-electronic superb tune -i d love also to hear a remix with "Flick of the finger" into in the place of nananana.someone mentioned it in a previous post and it was exactly what i was thinking about it. - and i cant wait to finally see a video... -i still cannot undestand the release (youtube). if you want to have a single in the charts release it properly, not in youtube...(unless you r afraid of the charts... ).Like Lennon said its gonna hurt the sales a lot

I still think this is just meant to grab attention and hype up the album Indeed. Single sales are merely pocket money. YouTube views are more valuable.

Is that so? So I've been unintentionally buffing up Lena Dunham's bank account all along by viewing that video where she was going down on that guy who was clearly out of her league in that one movie!??

I respect your opinion, mate... but I had a look at your posts from the last couple of years: is there anything you like? Maroon 5, maybe? Eh? I loved the first album. "Alone On The Rope" was one of the best Noel songs in years. The rest of the "Chasing" may be stunning, just not digging this one at all. Am sorry I cannot take your opinion seriously if you think Alone On The Rope is better...ITHOTM is ten times the song that is Also, what do people bloody want? IF, let's just say IF, Noel were to have released a song just as good as a Live Forever or Slide Away or Rock N Roll Star or Whatever....definitely guarantee that everybody would be moaning, saying that "why is he not going out of his comfort zone" or "he's just writing the same old stuff all the time" etc...just, you know, enjoy it..it's an out and out pop rock song. The thing is as well, it's done to suit this period of music. We are in the era now where most hits, not matter how you wanna look at it, they do have a slighty dancey beat to it in someway, it's rare when a song is a hit now that ISN'T...so he's moving with the times, doing whatever is needed to keep up with the rest..if you don't like it fine, but don't say why hasn't he written this type of song or that type of song...because it helps no one

Try Arcade Fire's "Wake Up". Seen it three times in an arena setting. Amazing. Dude I barely even know Arcade Fire exist....that says something. Who are Arcade Fire?

Listened to this song for the second time last night and I told my better half "this is Noel's new song" and he didn't say anything at all. No big deal.
Anyway it's a pretty catchy radio friendly song, but this song is the first single from his - yet to be released months later - new album, so it meant bo catch the attention of listeners and radio's.
I had to laugh and I though it was joke when I first heard "Bring The Light", but "The Roller" and "Four Letter Word" brought another excitement. I didn't like "The Death Of You And Me" first while my better half who's not Oasis/Gallagher fan said "It could have been one of The Beatles songs". I've always been joking about "AKA...What A Life" saying like "Noel's disco song", but in the end of the day I enjoyed all those songs live.
We all have different opinion about this song. Some like it, some don't. I like it and I'm very curious of other songs in his new album.

Bohemian like you - Dandy Warhols, which is very popular becaus of the Vodaphone spot in 2001 or so are you gonna be my girl - Jet seven nation army - white stripes Being honest I do like Are You Gonna Be My Girl, Seven Nation Army and Bohemian Like You but you CANNOT put Hey Ya! in the same list, nowhere near as good and the repetitiveness of it astounds me as it how popular it is
