I love all the sexual aggression around here. Thanks. This thread is somehow like this song. Should be something special and exciting but instead it's just like throwing stuff at each other in a closen room with no passion to it, just bored you know. -take that bitch - oh wait a minute, i have to grab that from the floor - let's go out and have some food, i'm hungry -sure -alright then the sexual aggression isn't as intense and lacks horns as when BE was about to be released but it's close... God bless.

The song is alright, but the sad part is that Noel is not going to the hall of fame with his solo carrer. He's nothing like Weller, Morrissey, Mccartney. I'm sure he always wished that but, he is just going to be the Oasis songwriter with some little solo albums later. I expected him to be even bigger after the split, always waited for his solo carrer, but it's not going to be spectacular. I think we can all agree on that. That's what bothers kalas for example, i believe. Best days are behind him. Talk about needing some reality pills. Of course his very best days are behind him--he's in his 40s and he's already written Morning Glory and Definitely Maybe two of the greatest albums of all time. Even if he wrote another Definitely Maybe, it still wouldn't be viewed as another Definitely Maybe because that's just the way people perceive things. Virtually noone does their best work in their 40s and 50s. 99 percent peak in their 20s and early 30s. As much as people go on about Bob Dylan's later work, it hasn't a patch on Blonde on Blonde and Highway 61 Revisited. And as much as I love me some Paul McCartney, he hasn't done anything Hall of Fame worthy since about 1975, when he was still in his early 30s. Noel turned solo in his early 40s. Big difference. And you thought Noel would be bigger than NGHFB? That album sold three quarters of a million copies in the UK, an huge amount of albums in this day and age. No sane person would have predicted any better before NGHFB came out. Tom Petty released his most successful solo album at 49, so maybe there's hope. I doubt he can come up with something better than DM or WTSMG? tho...

He was 39 when Full Moon Fever came out. Smash hit too! Damn, subtraction is my undoing again. Well he had another well selling solo album at 45(Wildflowers, better than Full Moon Fever) then! Back to the subject, I still think it's possible Noel can release another smash hit, it just won't be along the same vein or as successful as Wonderwall or Live Forever. He just has a different mindset now.

My intuition tells me that Chasing Yesterday will be the best post-Oasis material to date. This is a good song and a smart first single but I feel like it's going to be among the weaker tracks on the full album. Maybe because Noel slagged it during the fb interview, seems like he has some sort of masterplan here...
Or maybe it's just wishful thinking!

I can't think of one fucking classic song made by anyone that everyone can sing along too being made in the last 10-15 years. Try Arcade Fire's "Wake Up". Seen it three times in an arena setting. Amazing. Dude I barely even know Arcade Fire exist....that says something.

classic sing-along-song in the last 15 years? off the top.. american idiot-greenday seven nation army- white stripes yellow-coldplay in the end-linkin park also, wings big hits didn't come until the 3rd album (band on the run) with songs like "jet" and title track "band on the run" regarding the "na na" song (surely i'd prefer a guitar riff) noel finds a sound with this track that we heard with aka.what a life, but this time stronger effort in that direction (dance/rock radio) idk if that's good or bad it will be booming live i do like the mix though and the percussion on 2nd verse is nice a touch No no no no and no None of those are near the Imagine-Wonderwall-U2 song from the 80s class. Linkin park??? hahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahaha White Stripes??? hahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahaahaahahhahahahaha...........................hahahahahhahahahahahahahahaha Yellow is a shit tune as well

For me, the acid test is always 'how quickly do I want to learn it on my guitar'. For all the singles bar What A Life last time round, I instantly picked up my guitar to try to figure out the chords. I remember getting frustrated at the TDOYAM riff at first until finally conquering it. That's what makes Noel's music great for me, it's easy guitar music that's interesting enough to make you want to learn it.
In the Heat of the Moment simply doesn't have that appeal. I don't feel like learning it on the guitar because there's nothing interesting about it. Just simple chords with boring chord progressions.
As has been said many times, it's soft safe music for boring people. A 7/10 at best with the Noel factor. 6/10 without.

And another thing, how is Noel going to promote this with his acoustic? Can't see how he can pull this off acoustically at radio stations etc.

One more thing. Is no one worried that Sardy declined to produce the album? How bad must the album be for Dave 'bland as f*ck' Sardy to be bored of it?

I totally see this track getting played in every sports talk video montage scene that week it comes out. The "na, na, na, na, na"s will be the scene with the team cheering its victory.

Bob's work in the late 90's, 2000's might not be up there with Blood on The Tracks or Blonde on Blonde but it is still some of his best work and of a consistently high quality. I think all we can hope for from Noel are 3 or 4 really great tunes per album.

That was my first thought, but I decided not to be a Negative Nancy this time and just believe Sardy was involved with another band As Noel said, nobody wanted to take up the production since the album was nearly finished, it was not a bunch of rough demos. What if Mr. Sardy didn't like it? Well, that's even more good news. It might mean that the album is great

I really like it now, I have even got used to the na na nas. Its is actually something completely different for Noel, very fresh sounding with great production. Super excited about the album!!!
