Ed dropped a new single today...........Olympik...............it was definite highlight when I saw him in concert back in February, back when the world was still sane. If you told me this song was left over on an old hard drive in the Hansa studio I'd believe you! It sounds like Achtung Baby on steroids!

The intro reminds me of “Discotheque”. A good thing.

Hopefully this new “company” radiohead created plus becoming a member of Tik Tok means a Kid A/Amnesiac boxset is on the way for early June and this is the beginning of that promotional campaign. Both fingers crossed!!

I get that they didnt wanted to have a new Big song like Creep. But, the world deserved to hear this version of Lift, it doesnt matter if it was 1997 or 2020. It's a shame that its only on a leak of the minidisks that wasnt suppose to happen.

I’m just glad we fans did eventually get it. It slaps.

Looks like the whispers over the last month of Thom and Jonny starting a side project are true. The Smile Band debuting at Glasto tonight. No clue what will be played. They have a touring company setup and an email chain.

Pleasantly surprised by their set. All original new material. Fast driven. Loads of guitars. Loads. Very Steve Reich at times. Punky almost. Great percussion. They played 6-8 songs. I guess after 20 years of trying, “Skating On The Surface” will not be a radiohead song. Glad it’s coming out though. A lot of Hail To The Thief energy during this set.

Been a bit on a Radiohead musical detour the past week and realize that a band with three very talented guitarists never managed to release a full shoegaze / noise pop LP. Songs like Stop Whispering, Lurgee, Blow Out, Killer Cars, and These Are My Twisted Words are the only picks out of their catalog that are remotely close to the genres.

Coke Babies was their only real shoegaze type song. Wasn’t really their bag.

Is tomorrow the day RH announce some sort of Kid A/Amnesiac project? 20th anniversary is this weekend. It’s now or never. Something is coming. We just don’t know what. The chief has spoken.
