Well it finally happened. Ed dropped his first solo song tonight. Santa Teresa. It’s a 5 min instrumental that evokes Treefingers from Kid A. No vocals yet but Ed says he will sing songs on the album. Loads of Brian Eno vibes too.

Can't they have normal solo careers? Dissapointed honestly. But I still believe that at least one song will have the magic touch by him

Can we hear that on any Radiohead records in particular? I thought Thom and Jonny were the main creative driving forces for that band.

There are going to be plenty of songs he sings on. He’s going on tour with a full band lineup so proper songs are ahead. He won’t be playing any Radiohead he confirmed. This is like when Noel hit us with the instrumental of EOTR as the first thing we heard off HFB. What’s a normal solo career? Jonny is killing it with his film scores. Oscar nominated. Thom is making interesting Electronic music as well as soundtracks with awesome cuts sprinkles in. Phil is doing solo records and soundtracks. Colin is well Colin. He’s like the Jerry of the band. Jerry from Rick and Morty.

Lucky, Street Spirit, Treefingers are three tracks that have been greatly improved by Ed or was started by him

With a normal solo career I meant something more....traditional? I mean, with Radiohead nothing's really traditional. But Ed has a great voice plus an amazing guitarist. I was expecting a bunch of songs but as Lennon said is a teaser technically. Yorke's solo albums are just not for me. Too intrincated and sometimes a bit of a nonsense. Maybe I should wait for the next RH record, but I still believe that at least one tune will be great.

Maybe I should wait for the next RH record, but I still believe that at least one tune will be great. I still don’t get why anyone would think a traditional album would come from any of them. Jonny doesn’t sing and has long been fascinated with orchestrated works. Phil picks up the acoustic guitar and makes gentle music which is been used on two soundtracks that he helmed. Then there is Thom. He has 3 solo album and 1 soundtrack which has more Radiohead type songs on it than his other solo albums. I think Eraser is pretty straight forward. Modern Boxes and Anima are very rabbit hole. I don’t see him making traditional type solo stuff. That’s what Radiohead is for him. That’s his mainstream ironically. Now we get to Ed. Long been considered the straightest member of the band. If anyone will make a guitar based solo album it’s him. He’s working with a lot of highly professional people on this LP. Produced by Flood and Catherine Marks. Features musicians including Omar Hakim, Nathan East and Dave Okumu who will also tour with him. He was signed to Capitol records which is highly surprising. Shouldn’t Ed be on a much much smaller indie label? Maybe he’s sitting on a gem. We shall see.

Heard Thom Yorke on Desert Island Discs and he seemed really relaxed. Was absolutely delighted to find out that we both share a passion for Neil Young! Only too bad the episode wasn't hosted by Kirsty Young, she really has the most soothing voice in the entire universe.

Basically no press for King of Limbs and A Moon Shaped Pool. It’s nice to see him lighten up and kick back.

I mean yeah but the band hasn’t really done much press or interviews since around In Rainbows. A solid 11-12 years ago. Not their style anymore. But it’s nice to see Thom pop up all over. He should do hot wings or whatever that show is.
