I'm not really a fan of Radiohead but love the song Burn The Witch, thought i'd look it up of them doing it live. Is he taking the piss with that vocal? especially the second half of the song. It's one of the worst things I've ever heard. According to one commenter, he's singing in an "atypical vocal phrasing" reminiscent of Howard Devoto. But to answer your question, yes, he probably is just taking the piss. Because why the hell not? He's Thom Yorke from Radiohead, he could shit in a lightbulb and blow on it like an empty beer bottle, and it'd still get a 9/10 from Mojo...

Yes, it's awful. You surely can't think that's a good vocal? I don't know why Liam is being brought in to this conversation.. but to answer your question, yes, that's fucking terrible as well.

He still hasn't figured a way to deliver those verses, and I think he's very clearly just mucking about here (If she floats...she buuuuuuuuuurrrrrnnnssss-ahhh). When it gets to the bridge / chorus and he has to sing properly, he sounds pretty good there to me considering it's the first tune, before his voice warms up. A lot of the performances of Reflektor off the last Arcade Fire tour sound below-par too 'cos they opened with it.

It's just his choice of delivery for that song. If you watch the rest of the gig he's singing in great form. Always does. Keep listening/watching, you'll be impressed.

Well he should stop because it sounds stupid. The Daily Mail live from The Basement on the other hand is fucking amazing.

It's one of the worst things I've ever heard. Since I'm only a fan of the bootleg since my MSG one never surfaced, what say you spaneli? You were there. Lay it on us. It's funny. It's rare that I don't hear the vocal, but for this song the vocal didn't matter. Live it fit so well in the mix and the song just sounded so big. The second it began a giant pit started, I shit you not. I went from the 15th row down center to the 5th by the time they hit the first chorus. That song was amazing live. I remember going a couple days later and looking at it on YouTube and thinking, like shit, that sounded so much better while there. I guarantee anyone here. See that song live and you won't notice the vocal. Taking the sound straight from the soundboard just doesn't do justice to the space the song was done in, the mix they got, and the feel of the song. Everything in that video pales in comparison of how it actually sounded to a live human ear. It was the highlight of the set, and in that video a lot of the life that was there at the event is gone.

When A Moon Shaped Pool was first released in America it debuted at #3. I guess it would have gone #1 if the pre sales for the special edition were included because they sold 21,000 of them last week alone. I can't imagine they missed the #1 spot by much.
Radiohead made a nice little score on these special editions.
21,000 sold in America for $89 each. That's $1,869,000 give or take.

First one is definitely a snippet of Jigsaw Falling Into Place. 2nd one is tougher to decipher.
