It's Thom looking for God which is very much like finding Jerry's car in the garage. * How about that 1991 Scientology reference by George. Ahead of it's time for sure. I probably didn't know what Scientology was at the time but those stupid dianetics book commercials played non stop when I was a kid.

In the wait for this album, I've went back to listening to The Bends. I bought the High and Dry single on the day it was released. I feel fucking old!

gorgeous and emotive - probably the best elements that Radiohead have. It's a skill that has aged gracefully and they're master craftsman.
this past two songs are nice, but I don't know if i'd remember them if they were released by another band. Based on the past couple listens. This about what i expected out of them, which i guess is why i'm not too excited about radiohead these days. everyone gets up and arms about 'they're back' and their album roll outs, but musically these dudes are just gonna crank out well crafted alternative rock at this point with influences from artists that do those specific genres better.
As boring as KOL was to me, it did have some stunning moments that were moments that only Radiohead could have created. 'Bloom' is beautiful mix of Kid A's glitchyness and Amnesiac free-form jazz. I just hope the new record has a couple moments/songs like that. I think this record will be better than KOL, but for first time in my life I'm not expecting a great or classic album out of Radiohead, a very good one a la HTTT would please me. I'm of course open to another classic.

Haven't listened to the song yet but why wait till Monday? Official charts start on Fridays now globally. They probably don't care but they'll most likely miss out on number one.

This album is turning into everything I wished for. I'm a big fan of ambient music - it's flexibility in bending the mind towards your own image preference is what gives it a universal appeal. That's what it does for me - it takes the mind on a trip to landscapes or destinations of your choice, and places where you can get peace of mind and tranquility. It's amazing how music can work the mind like that - it makes it extra special in that your own experience of that music is unique and that nobody else knows what 'trip' your mind is taking you on. This song does all of that - it's a legal high!
The ambient textures reminds me of a mix between Aphex Twin's Ambient Works II (the intro) and Harold Budd and Brian Eno's collaboration for The Pearl. It's amazing that it balances a minimalist approach with an epic feel. A widescreen epic too!
This album is going to be their most cinematic I think. I cannot believe that I cannot wait for this album now!

Listening to it again. I like it better than the first. Be interesting to see how these fit with in the album. Need to listen to it with headphones on to try and pick up all the extra things going on in the background.

The video is kinda hypnotic. It's very well shot... That Paul Thomas Anderson ain't no Mike Bruce.
And the song, well, it will need a few more listens but I do like what I'm hearing. The slightly unsettling strings in the middle part remind me a lot of Philip Glass, which is a great thing.
I'm not a big fan of the vocals to be honest, and the ending is pretentiously disturbing. I like everything about the rest.

Really digging the video. Shot beautifully and cool ideas throughout. I'd love a movie like that of a guy passing through different doors/lives and adjusting. Anyways..............
So excited that the new album is out Sunday. Fucking pumped! It seems strings are playing a big part on this album. It's all sounding fantastic.
Gimme RADIOHEAD!

This new song is just like some average song in the end of some tv show about doctors and shit. There are like 1 000 000 bands making music like this. WE NEED GREAT SONGWRITING not this shit.

When I listened to this with the video, I was clearly way too interested in the video. The video is almost too good, to the point it becomes distracting to the song (same with Burn the Witch). The song on it's own is great (once I opened the video in one tab, left it, and browsed through another). Really excited for this album. It already feels like it will be a better effort than TKOL.

Wow, this one is gonna take a few listens. It's really ambient, very Brian Eno - and with more gorgeous strings! It's like a expansion of Treefingers and it could fit on the back half of () easily. So, LP9! Seems like it's going to be very orchestral and Jonny-focused. So, y'know, hype for that. The final round up of songs possibly on it: DEFINITE Daydreaming ALMOST CERTAIN Burn the Witch Silent Spring Desert Island Disk The Present Tense LIKELY Ful Stop POSSIBLE AND CONCIEVEABLE Identikit Lift Cut a Hole UNLIKELY Skirting on the SurfaceBig Boots True Love Waits Open the Floodgates Wake Me (Before They Come) Follow Me Around I Froze Up etc.. Sound like a great album to me. Why is this song unlikely? I think it has a very strong chance of appearing on LP9.

Shows you don't need a massive budget to make an interesting video. Why is Noel putting out garbage like that awful Riverman video when he could be doing something simple but interesting like this?
