What the hell are two Radiohead albums doing on my iTunes? Sure, I've kept everything I've accumulated since 2003 for sentimental reasons, if nothing more. But Radiohead? Yeah, Delete.

I had a feeling those cheeky bastards were gonna be up to something this Christmas. I was kinda hoping they'd release an entire album as a present to all the fans. I'll take this Bond theme instead. It would be really cool if the Bond producers ever picked them to do a Bond theme but I totally get why they didn't. They want the Adele's and Sam Smith's of the world and use their hype to further promote the film.  |

Not electronic which was bordering on formulaic in recent years which is a good sign for the new album.
Really organic, sweeping and brooding - classic Radiohead. More of the same please!

I would expect a new album in the next 2-3 months. We know recording is basically finished. I'd expect a blend of Rainbows and Limbs. Hopefully more Rainbows though. That album kicks some serious ass. |

Yes I agree about the producers choosing Adele or Sam smith to do the bond song, I have to say I thought both their songs were great but this radiohead song is just brilliant. It has beautiful strings and vocals. The song has a very dark feel to it in places. |

This gets better every time you listen to it, Jonny's strings are amazing - that swell at 1:38 is a classic Radiohead moment, so uplifting and sad at the same time. When the vocal melody starts making sense after 4/5 listens it's really dark and sweet. The lyrics I can make out seem quite cool too "The spectre of my mortal soul has come for me" / "The futures been changed by the past and the spectre, how he laughs." I really, really, really hope the next album has a similar sound - MORE JONNY!!
Also - seriously James Bond? Sam fucking Smith?

Still can't believe they had actually tried (and obviously very hard) to record a Bond theme. I've actually found the rumours past summer to be quite ridiculous and didn't really believe in it. They could have dug out Big Boots as well for this occasion, that would have been a sure winner.

Thom yorke should stop crying in his songs. Its so depressing. Musically theres no doubt thats a great song but i know its been rejected because of those vocals. That keeps me away from listening to recent radiohead songs too. I just cant stand it all the time.

I'd Blow all 5 members AND Nigel Godrich if they put spectre on the album or even as a hidden track. Not sure about the legalities of it though, As I'm sure MGM studios who own the Bond Rights will have paid for all recording and production costs, etc... Not to mention giving the Band a fair was of cash for their time.
I'll bet my left bollock that the reason they gave us the track as a free gift is so that MGM can't sue for royalties earned.
