They're the only ones good enough to get on Be Here Now, to be fair. I love (I Got) The Fever Yeah that is good actually. Forgot about that one. But it is very similar to a lot of the Be Here Now stuff, especially IHITIK, just not quite to that standard imo. I know Stay Young is very similar too (doesn't it borrow IHITIK's riff for its solo, or something?) but that tune's just something else imo.

You should do this with the b-sides and re-edit them too, then we'd have something close to a Be Here Now Reimagined Only two B-Sides that I got in lossless is the ones on Masterplan. Would just have to work with them from there. They'd be all you'd need, I'd imagine something like this would be great: 1. D'You Know What I Mean? [Remastered, shorter outro] 2. Stay Young [Remastered, shorter outro] 3. Stand By Me [Remastered, one less "stand by me...etc" per chorus] 4. I Hope, I Think, I Know [Remastered] 5. The Girl in the Dirty Shirt [Remastered] 6. Going Nowhere [Shorter outro] 7. Fade In-Out [Remastered, less "Fade In-Outs"] 8. Don't Go Away [Remastered] 9. Be Here Now [Remastered] 10. All Around the World [Remastered, tighter edit] 11. It's Gettin' Better (Man!!) [Remastered, shorter outro] 12. All Around the World (Reprise)

Is it acoustic-based with some minor electric guitar overdubs/drums/etc or is it overblown like the album version?

Also, all tracks from BHN are on the demos except, oddly, Be Here Now. Instead i suppose it was replaced by Angel Child. And Magic Pie I presume, which was written later... I figured the rest of the Mustique demos would be similar to Angel Child in style so it's very interesting to hear that's the odd one out. I guess I can wave goodbye to the mental picture I always had of Noel recording them sat on a deckchair by the beach, as this sounds a far more driven endeavour! Could you possibly tell us whether or not there are any noticeable differences (i.e. Structural, lyrical etc.) between the demos and the final studio recordings? Would be much appreciated!

oasisdna, was no demo of BHN's title track was recorded at Mystique? Do you happen to know if a demo of that song exists? Cuz I remember that Noel said he wrote it while banging on a toy piano belonging to one of Mick Jagger's kids during his vacation there. I also vaguely remember Owen Morris saying that he and Noel recorded a demo at Mystique, though I might be wrong. Thanks!

It's a lovely version...opens with the airplanes flying over head Mustique that Owen himself recorded uses a handheld recorder and proceed to open with a bass line and solo acoustic guitar and a keyboard (hypnotic type ting ting sound--sorry for the shit description i just dont know the instrument). It's not overblown at all. A brilliant version.

Thanks for the info oasisdna, I didn't know the demos actually had electric guitars on them. I always thought they were acoustic with a drum machine that Owen Morris programmed. I know it's probably hard to tell, but on Fade In-Out is there the slide guitar? I wonder if Johnny Depp actually played it on the demo since he was there at the time.

All same lyrics...but obvious melodic changes Noel adds/does in his own style. Best example is AATW.

Fade in out is just an acoustic drop-D tuned guitar (sounds like maybe 1 electric accompanying on the guitar mutes) drum machine and maraca/shaker.

In the meantime, maybe oasisdna can tell us something we don't know about those Mustique demos... I can tell you anything you'd like to know....just can't upload anything. And no, I don't remember how I got them. You have the demos?!?!?!?!?

oasisdna might we inquire what the reason is that you are unable to post them?

oasisdna might we inquire what the reason is that you are unable to post them? I'm assuming because they're highly confidential and unless you get permission by the record label he can?

I recall Noel said that the middle eight was only written the day they recorded the song, though he might've been just making stuff up, per usual.

oasisdna might we inquire what the reason is that you are unable to post them? Because I was given these under strict confidentiality and I gave my word I would NEVER leak them. My word is worth more than internet fame. Without trust a person isn't worth much.

oh come on, really?? how can you not remember how you got the Holy Grail of Oasis recordings only 2 years ago? It's really not even important where I got them. But, that being said, I am very fortunate to have them. Details, details, details.....can't get enough of your knowledge on the Grail.

The new details that oasisdna has brought us have made me even more baffled about the recording of BHN. If these demos were more than just quick acoustic run-throughs, then why weren't they used as the template for the album? It probably would've been a very simple affair for Liam, Bonehead, and Alan to overdub their parts onto the demos. Noel's description of the Mustique demos as very rough compared to the SOTSOG demos made me think that they couldn't be used for a polished studio release. It seems that Noel recorded the BHN naked that many here are clamoring for on that Caribbean island, 20 years ago.

Are the rough mixes on youtube from My Big Mouth, Stand By Me and I Hope, I Think, I Know from Mustique? No, they are believed to be recorded from the album sessions. Most likely from a studio mixing desk via a tape recorder, hence the poor sound quality. oasisdna thanks for the new descriptions and details of the demos.

oasisdna thanks for the info on the recordings. As BHN is my all-time favourite album, I love to hear any information like this on how the album was conceived. As someone said earlier, this really is the Holy Grail for us to read this insight.
I can also understand why you won't leak these to the internet. Like you said, trust is more important than fame. Don't ever fold under pressure and stick to your guns.
Hopefully one day these recordings will see the light of day officially, when the BHN remastered version is finally released.
Quick question. Why wasn't I got the Fever done at Mustique?

Thanks for the great info Brian, fingers crossed we'll get to hear these (or at least the best of the bunch) next summer. If we don't get them next summer I fear we're in for a loooooong wait
