GMEX 97 was OASIS's SHEA STADIUM!
A MAGNUM OPUS!! At least Oasis had no trouble hearing themselves at that gig, and Liam wasn't wearing a Davy Crockett hat! (Top Beatles/The Clash references there )

What's everyones favourite bit of All Around The World? Got to be the reprise for me, a wonderfully grandiose signing off of their most overstated work, right down to the door slam that brings it all to an end

What's everyones favourite bit of All Around The World? When the key changes. Again. And the fact that it is the longest song ever to reach number 1 in the UK charts. Beat that Adele ;-)

Need to listen to AATW properly again.
It's been a while.

I have a real love/hate relationship with AATW,
Some days I think it's pretty shite, overlong, boring nonsense. Then I'll listen to it in it's correct format (whilst really drunk) and it's the best thing they ever did or at least top 5.
I only wish it was longer

Toss up for me between when it hits the 6-minute mark and the guitars strut along to Liam's "Yeah I know what I know..." bit, before exploding into the solo at 6:45, over which Liam belts that most Oasis-y of Oasis lyrics, "Please don't cry, never say die!", and a bit later on, when the solo has circled round and all the elements of the song - the brass, the na-na-na's, the harmonica, more guitar soloing- are all piled on to bring it to a close. Such a satisfying way to end the song. I've frequently been absolutely crushed when I've been listening to it and realised it's starting to fade out.

The 6:45 mark could go on forever with the solo and Liam's vocal. That's the sheer magic of All Around the World. It's the my favorite section as well!

At one point today, 44 people were viewing this section and this thread was the most recently updated. For one brief, and glorious moment, I thought something had actually happened. Nope. Back to avoiding this thread.

...for middle aged, middle class, sexually repressed women to cry into their pillows to. No, for anyone. Don't you have the urge to go to sleep when you hear Adele? How can you, when she's belting out those generic lyrics of hers (or one of her co-writers at least) right at you? And it's not like you can get away from her and lose yourself in the music instead, because a) the music's fucking boring, and b) it being modern pop and all, the vocals are right up there at the forefront of the mix.
