I've possibly got some news here, it's not a lot but still... A Belgian radio DJ from Studio Brussel who is a very big fan of Oasis and everything surrounding it, just told on air that he met the pianist of NGHFB (I'm guessing Mike Rowe) and he apparently even got dinner with him. The radio DJ said that he heard some songs of the album, which is due to be released in january. I missed the first part of the interview, so I don't have the context or any more details, hopefully I'll be able to relisten to it on the website. I tweeted him to ask for more details, hopefully he'll respond. Okay I listened to the whole thing and did some 'research', I'm positive that this guy is telling the truth. He did a documentary about Novastar, who recorded his album in Rockfield Studios (same studio where Oasis recorded WTSMG). One of the guys who plays on this album is Mike Rowe (verified), the pianist of (formerly) Oasis and NGHFB. So apparently they hung out, and it's not a far stretch to imagine that they talked a lot about Oasis, since this radio-DJ is a massive Oasis fan. I'm fairly certain that when he said that Mike let him hear some songs, he's not going to lie about it. Same thing goes about the month of release. Still, it's perfectly possible that Mike isn't aware of everything and just estimated when it will be released, but this still means that the album is (as good as) finished. I still hope this Radio DJ will eventually let something slip TLDR: Nothing new really, just more confirmation that everything is recorded and we will hear something sooner rather than later.

Well, this means I'll have to switch from 3FM to StuBru though.
Anyway, thanks for telling us this. It's not much but I like little things like this. Also, does this mean you speak Dutch as well?

That sounds interesting. An album release in January should mean an announcement is around the corner, and the single shouldn't be released after November.

I'm actually convinced and pretty confident that we'll hear something within the next two weeks.

It's generally not a good time for album sales since Christmas has just passed by. Albums released in January usually are forgotten quickly, especially for end of the year awards. Sad but true. I remember when The Strokes released First Impressions of Earth in January 2006. That was their death knell they never recovered from.

January is normally a dead zone for major artists to release anything. Yeah that is right on the money. Not that any of these rumors are true. If I'm Noel's manager I wouldn't want the album released in january. but maybe they are trying to ride the holiday wave. If he released a (great) single or two before the album I'd imagine the album would gain a bit more hype.

the fact that both the brit awards and the grammys are on in february perfectly proves that January is a dead month for sales and they basically exist to kick start record sales after the new year/ xmas lull

Maybe he's relying on pre-orders for the months prior to drive up the sales come release day. If this happens, he'd probably be the biggest artist for a solid month straight or possibly more.

The Arctic Monkeys debut album was released in January So now we know why bands are scared to do it. Bad luck for the further career.

Maybe he misinterpreted it and it's more like 'the album is coming in January', i.e. we will get the first single then? Edit: Just playing the devil's advocate here.

I just don't like new AM record. But I think it's doing really well for them so I wouldn't say that it's "bad luck" for a future career. Personally I think it's great as well. Still prefer the debut by a bit. But definitely my second favourite of theirs
