Finally I'm listening to the album on spotify as I type. It's better than his last album which I only listened to a couple of times after I bought it last year. My opinion on this new album is an album with radio friendly songs, nothing more, nothing less. I don't think I'll buy this album.

Tell me a good song on that record that you enjoy from start to finish. I DARE YOU I enjoy the whole album from start to finish Something I cannot say about Noel's last two. Of course that doesn't mean all songs are great or hits. But it has a chilling flow til the last tune which is a rocker. It's a nice listen if you don't have anything else. I mean, most of the songs sound carefree, but it's way too repetitive. I wish it had some balls. But it doesn't,at least to me. I prefered These People honestly, and that record was boring too. But at least he tried something new, with the opener for example. Opinions I guess.

Horrendous arrangements on most of the tracks, (the pinnacle of the vulgarity probably being the opening track). I haven't listened to his new album, but it can't be worse than "These People". But when was the last time he truly composed good music, 18 years ago ?

But there was some variety over there. In this one everything is so dull,so pointless. The same vibe over and over again. Richard's voice is alright but he can do better than this. If you liked Surprised By The Joy,you will probably enjoy the record. That's all I can say.

Still one of the best live acts around though. Roll on Manchester Albert Hall.

He gave a good answer when the interviewer was asking about Liam's "unhealthy obsession" with Oasis in this interview. Also interesting to hear how he feels about Cast No Shadow now.

"Applachian Springs" is the best song he's written since "Check the Meaning". His improvisational lyricism on the band's instrumental magic has always been ace compared to his pen to paper songwriting (see the Verve bonus track "All Night Long" and outtake "Blue Pacific Ocean").

He's a massive odd ball. Odds on to be sectioned within 10 years.
What's that accent about? He's from Wigan yet puts on a fake Mancunian accent at times and then goes into some posh sounding voice "but ummm".
Stick to the music Richie lad.

For those critical of his solo career, he has done plenty good: Crazy World Buy It In Bottles Break The Night With Colour A Song For The Lovers They Don't Own Me Nature Is The Law Music Is Power

Its pr. Another one now in the Gwythers’ camp for personal appearances. Got an album to sell hasn’t he, needs headlines. Disappointing.

This made it to number 4 in the charts in the end. Quite disappointing considering the opposition.
