Noel has said something rather nice about Elton in the past
And yet...
Seems to me that Elton just has a hateful grudge against Noel based on that one comment he made, and when Elton has a grudge, he goes off (Just ask Madonna lol). Shame, i would love for them to collaborate.

He mentioned Muse..i think that just about makes his argument irrelevant
Neither of the bands he mentioned are in the same league as Oasis

but this goes back at least to 1997, when Noel was talking about new version of Candle in the wind:
"To be honest, I think it's a nice tribute... but to release it on his own label with one of his own songs on the b-side seems like, shall we say, lack of foresight on his behalf... it's like Eric Clapton writing songs for his dead son. Then again, people aren't stupid... death sells doesn't it?"

He called her a fair ground stripper with no talent but then straight after in the next sentence he went on to praise Rihanna and Katy perry, lol.

Even though Noel probably took the first swing at Elton, he has remained more dignified throughout the whole thing IMO.

Sir Elton does raise very valid points in regards to them not being men and blowing their shot at America.
Both of them throughout the 90s were deplorable punks and even Noel himself would tell you as much. It's a shame that only one of them has decided to grow up and become a man since then.

As for old Reg, he does seem more hellbent on being a celebrity with celebrity friends rather than trying to be a normal person. He hasn't released a decent record in decades, yet somehow manages to crawl out the woodwork time and time again to annoy us all (now I mention it, seems like Bono's turning that way ).

Indeed he does. I very much enjoyed reading this article the other day www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2669950/Elton-John-says-ta-ta-white-tie-tiara-party-Musician-cancels-years-event-amid-fears-losing-social-prestige.html"But Elton John’s lavish charity garden party, the White Tie and Tiara Ball, has been cancelled this year – amid fears that it was losing its social cachet." Respect does of course go to him for raising money for charity in any way possible, but reading this: "But some have claimed the event has begun to lose its appeal in recent years, attracting only minor celebrities such as Peter Andre and Kerry Katona", I couldn't help laugh at the thought of his wounded ego, because lets be honest, that's part of the reason he chooses to throw the things in the first place. If he wanted to, he could donate £50 million of his own cash and not bother with the gaudy, pompous evening for the well-to-do, but you know, Elizabeth Hurley and all...

He needs to piss off and hide away for ever. The man is absolutely nothing, apart from being disruptive to our society by enhancing such 'cult of celebrity' status through such lavish, egotistical and untouchable lifestyles as that article just shows. And he absolutely loves to flaunt it. It's this type of behaviour which keeps normal people from looking at celebrities objectively, and thus they can get away with murder. Hence, why we have divas like Lady Gaga and Mariah Carey - who I hear are terrible people - but whose overblown status' makes them treat people like shit and thus they think they are invincible. It's also this 'cult of celebrity' status that let Jimmy Savile and Rolf Harris get away with it all these years. Which is why I like guys like Noel - he's got an everyday man appeal to him, and doesn't over elaborate in his lifestyle. Sure, he used to live a hedonistic lifestyle, but he was young and reckless - it wasn't a carefully PR spun image. Plus, he's not vain, and such vanity is essential to arseholes like Reginald Dwight to keep up their image of superiority (who in their right mind thinks 'Elton John' is a great name?).

As I said its quite sad since a duet of Noel and Elton would be amazing. And I believe Noel would still respect him deep down (hence the Piano comment)

Wonder what Elton prefers, men or boys?
The reason Liam and Noel are idolised, not just loved, but idolised especially in Liam's case is because he's a real rockstar.
It's all well and good sweating in a grey vest to lasers and fireworks or never shutting up about Africa, but how many British lads do you see walking the street influenced by Chris Martin and Bono?

Oasis didn't crack america because they didnt give a fuck and didnt suck corporate cock like elton probably did.
That same 'couldn't give a fuck' attitude is part of the whole aura of a genuinely hedonistic rock act and is what made an oasis gig so exciting. How exciting and on the edge do you reckon an elton john gig is?
The fucking wiggy old puff doesn't do his shopping like everyone else either, the liar....seen him on tv buying a bunch of CDs from hmv and they shut the store for him so he could peruse the shelves unhindered by peasants.

Now that Liam's in a failing band, I wonder if he regrets all those years of being disrespectful to entire countries just because he was in Oasis. Maybe if he hadn't been such a dick in the past (and still to some extent) Beady Eye wouldn't be the failure it is today.
