Oasis didn't crack America because they didn't suck some dicks to become famous over there, a thing which wasn't a problem for Sir Elton John I guess.

what exactly is cracking america??they had steady albums sales over there , fill arenas headline festivals ,there last 2 tours were there biggest tours they had ever played in america and they were hardly playing small venues in some areas. Have there album sales ever been updated?? morning glory been on same sales in america and uk since about 1997.

^In addition to that, I'd say it's pretty hard for bands like Oasis to actually become really successfull in the US. I can't think of that many British bands that were successfull there and played the same kind of music as Oasis. Sure, bands like U2 might have managed it - but they're hardly comparable.

I was thinking the same thing... also, in my opinion, if Kurt Cobain was still alive, I think Oasis would have been huge in the US. But after his death, the US market transitioned from Rock n' Roll over to hip hop and pop music after that, just an observation. |

My post?? Anyway... another thing you can point out, is that Noel gets respect from other musicians: Paul McCartney, Neil Young, Jimmy Page, The Who, Rod Stewart... they all seem to respect him. It kind of says something about Elton John's ego. |

Oasis were during WTSMG and Wonderwall charted at 56 on the Billboard year end list in 1996. Liam was just really offensive to America when they promoted over there and also many controversies happened (like him pulling out of MTV unplugged at the last minute).
