I don't understand why us English fans expected England to play like Liverpool. Roy is an utterly useless manager with no tactical nous what so ever.

I think what England need to do now is simple. Make better players. That mean spending our money on academies and youth facilities, and not on ridiculously expensive foreign stars. Foreign players should be significantly reduced in England, simply because it needs to happen in order for our national team to improve.
For example, if you took all of the non-Italian players out of the Italian league, every team would still have a respectable side. Do the same in the Premier League and some teams wouldn't be able to field a starting 11. I'm not xenophobic or racist in any way but it really does need to be done or we are just going to carry on failing in everything.
I could probably write a whole article on this, in fact I probably will IF England do go out of the World Cup, which I hate to say it we honestly deserve.

Already Premier League teams must include 8 homegrown players in their 25 man squad. Increasing the amount by 2 every season for 3 years would make a big difference and would certainly not be against EU law. It would take time but its the only way England can become competitive again.

And yet France seem to have found a way round it.

But they are not prevented from taking a job. They are prevented from being named in a 25 man squad, which the manager picks. Really, its quite possible.

What's the difference between England and a tea bag?
A tea bag stays in the cup longer.
Jesus fucking wept.
