Beady Eye's management was crap from the very beginning of taking on the band. Maybe they were too busy with Macca and Arcade Fire to show any competence toward Liam & Co. A good manager puts the musicians' butts on a bus and sends them where they need to be--whether it's a concert stage or a radio interview or even the right record producer. 30 Seconds to Mars played well over 300 gigs in support of one of their records--yet Scott Rogers books Beady Eye for(what was it, exactly) 20 concerts? Good management assigns individuals to the band who will be of actual BUSINESS ASSISTANCE to them (not "monkey business"). Quest was an even bigger hunk of bad luck to Beady Eye than Gem's accident. The musicians shouldn't have to worry about the business aspect of things--although it all too frequently doesn't work out that way (one recalls Brian Epstein).

Not going to Coachella probably hurt their image bad. Who gets a spot on that and then drops out?
What was the story behind that anyway?

They're too arrogant to do supporting slots, and when you think about it, it would be really weird too. This used to be a band who used to play sold out stadiums as a headlining act. Fucking hell, Liam played Knebworth ffs! It's really difficult because they'd have to swallow a lot of pride. Eh, Noel played those same stadiums and didn't have a problem doing supporting slots, first for RHCP then doing a three way bill with Snow Patrol and Jake Bugg so he could tour parts of the US that wouldn't have gotten a Noel, BDI, or Oasis gig. I do believe I was talking specifically about Beady Eye. Oh and I agree on cigarsinhell's post. Good points.

That is to say, if it was good enough for Noel, then it should be good enough for Beady Eye.

Not going to Coachella probably hurt their image bad. Who gets a spot on that and then drops out? What was the story behind that anyway? The richest one percent of this country owns half our country's wealth, five trillion dollars. One third of that comes from hard work, two thirds comes from inheritance, interest on interest accumulating to widows and idiot sons and what I do, stock and real estate speculation. It's bullshit. You got ninety percent of the American public out there with little or no net worth. I create nothing. I own. We make the rules, pal. The news, war, peace, famine, upheaval, the price per paper clip. We pick that rabbit out of the hat while everybody sits out there wondering how the hell we did it. Now you're not naive enough to think we're living in a democracy, are you buddy? It's the free market. And you're a part of it. You've got that killer instinct. Stick around pal, I've still got a lot to teach you. God bless.

If you're not inside, you're outside, okay? And I'm not talking a $400,000 a year working Wall Street stiff flying first class and being comfortable, I'm talking about liquid. Rich enough to have your own jet. Rich enough not to waste time. Fifty, a hundred million dollars, buddy. A player, or nothing. Now, you had what it took to get into my office; the real question is whether you got what it takes to stay.

I was just pointing out that it must feel weird to go from stadium headliners to supporting slots and gigs in smaller venues. If you want to reach a bigger audience, you'd need to swallow a bit of pride and do it though. That was what I meant.

God bless. It's not a question of enough, pal. It's a zero sum game, somebody wins, somebody loses. Money itself isn't lost or made, it's simply transferred from one perception to another.

The point is, ladies and gentleman, that greed, for lack of a better word, is good. Greed is right, greed works. Greed clarifies, cuts through, and captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit. Greed, in all of its forms; greed for life, for money, for love, knowledge has marked the upward surge of mankind. And greed, you mark my words, will not only save BDi , but that other malfunctioning corporation called the USA. Thank you very much. God bless.
