Come to Slidell, Louisiana, Liam! I'll be stopping there pretty soon to visit my Nan. She'll serve you some jambalaya and some gator stew if you do! You should also come and visit the newly restored Heritage House during the day hours-- it's pretty neat with all the Creole historical artifacts.

I'd have something snarky to add onto this if today hadn't been such a shit day.

If you had told me five years ago that a Gallagher would skip touring not only the US, but the Americas altogether, I would have been shocked and called you a liar.

They probably just don't think it is worth the effort. I'm sure DGSS sold almost nothing in America and to make a meaningful run at the US you need to tour it properly. The costs would out weigh the profits I'm sure. Sad.

Wouldn't make that much money off the door either since the tickets aren't likely to be that expensive. Lord only knows how much their hotels, buses and flights cost. Liam ain't a cheap guy. Champagne tastes.

They killed it each and every time. Very powerful live band. They blew the roof off Terminal 5 in March 2012. Made Beady Eye's performance at the same venue 3 months earlier look like a high school band.

Maybe if they do another album and it's better received sales wise they'll cross the ocean to the new world.
But, that's a big *if*. 2 more years to fade further into obscurity probably won't help much.

Made Beady Eye's performance at the same venue 3 months earlier look like a high school band. I've seen them twice. First time was when they were opening for Oasis (w/Jet ughghghghghhgghg) ended up meeting with them (and getting hit on by Mr. Serge LOLOL) and getting stuck between Tom & Liam (Gallagher) for a impromptu singing circle of Smokey Robinson's "Tracks Of My Tears" to close out the aftershow party. Second time was here in Portland for the last album. Definitely plan on catching them again when they come through.

There would be no point to a tour consisting of: Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto, New York, Philadelphia, Boston, etc. It would produce what? 3,000-5,000 in record sales? Wouldn't make that much money off the door either since the tickets aren't likely to be that expensive. Lord only knows how much their hotels, buses and flights cost. Liam ain't a cheap guy. Champagne tastes. when they came here to boston in 2011 and the place was only half full (literally) i knew then and there they would never be back. and like you said, who could blame them? even if at this stage of the game they are only doing it because they WANT to (they don't need the $$)---- as you alluded to after the cost of a u.s. tour itself they probably wouldn't even break even at the door.

Was that the Boston show in December of 2011? I think it was right after their Terminal 5 show in New York City. A venue also half filled at best. The crowd wasn't feeling it, mostly shouting for Oasis songs Beady Eye were never going to play. One guy next to me yelled "Supersonic" after every single fucking song. So annoying. To make matters worse, they cut some songs and Liam's voice was in shambles from the first song. Very sad sight after witnessing two outstanding New York shows earlier that year by Beady Eye. A tour leg too far?
