Coldplay. Everything they do just seems soulless to me. Like, oh we are doing an experimental record, need an arty video then, black and white/negative, why not? Pricks.

Listened to it a few times now and I really like the new Coldplay song, got a Bon Iver/Sigur Ros vibe to it.

You talking about Kasabian? I would rather watch a shit uninspiring Kasabian video than anything to do with Coldplay. One might argue that Kasabian is nothing more than a walking cliche of previous band's influences: It’s just a reflection of a reflection Of a reflection of a reflection Will I see you on the other side? We all got things to hide It’s just a reflection of a reflection Of a reflection of a reflection

Anyway, I'm thinking this Johnny Cash album might be quite interesting - stuff from the vaults on this one that his son found. Hopefully not just a cheap cash in.

Black Lips new album Underneath the Rainbow is pretty great. Their brand of flower-punk is a great old time. This one is a little more country influenced but its got a rock n' roll heart. I thought their last one Arabia Mountain was their best. They are a great raw rock n' roll band. Catchy short tunes.

Always a great experience, especially in their early years when anything could or did happen on stage.

The Thrills - So Much For The City
Dunno if anyone remembers these guys from way back in 2003? Gave their album a spin after a long long time, and I thought it held up well. Some nice little indie pop, I think it's a really good debut album.

I think they're more or less split up now. Went on hiatus in 2008, nothing since then. Only got their first album, one of many bands that never progressed beyond that first album.

Some nice little indie pop, I think it's a really good debut album. The thrills were one of my favorite bands about 4 years ago. I haven't listened to them recently but their discography is really under rated. Teenager is one of my favorite albums ever. Really great song writing on there. Their debut album is full of sunshine pop bliss. Another great album. The second one is the weakest but it is consistent nonetheless. Really under rated band in my opinion. Shame they just fizzled out.

The Cure are FINALLY releasing the second part of their 4:13 album sessions from 2008 this year, I'd rather something brand new but whatever. I love the Cure, didn't love that particular album but I'm still looking forward to it! Also if this eventually got released 6 years later it gives me hope for Noels AA album eventually getting released somehow!

The new Elbow album is definitely worth checking out. It leaked the other day. I'm enjoying many of their tunes.

Trailer for Julian Casablancas' new album. Some snippets remind me of Iggy Pop. Down and dirty style.

Aww shit, I thought this was the 'last album I listened to' thread.... Anyway, yeah Cast, I think I should invest in that third Thrills album, I remember it coming out but haven't listened to anything but only heard good things about it.

Only had one listen of it so far but I thought it was a good album, certaintly much better than their last one. The title track and New York Morning are probably the best sings on it. I really like Wild Beasts new album as well.

It's a lovely album, more subtle and consistent than their last, the side effect being that there's nothing that quite makes my jaw drop like The Birds or The Loneliness Of A Tower Crane Driver.
